mining is using your computer's power to mine cryptocurrencies and get paid the reward for finding a block.
trading is buying and selling altcoins. buying low and selling high!

for mining you obviously need equipment, either specific mining equipment like ASICs or a good and expensive GPU. and it will cost you, because of electricity cost,...

for trading you just need to find a way to buy and sell them. usually people do it on an exchange site like bitfinex, poloniex, bittrex, kraken,...

They are different things
You don't need GPU, ASIC Miner to trade, you just need fiat money/btc to buy coin and then sell it when you get profit. If a coin you buy still not profitable to sell you can keep it until coin hit profit

How about mining?
In simple words mining is activity to earn bitcoin/altcoin using hardware, you just need to point your hardware to miner pool and then you get reward.

I can trade with a smartphone. It doesn't take any special equipment to trade Bitcoins because you're just using an exchange just like you would trade stocks or mutual funds. You're using a third party site to do the trading.

If you want to mine, you probably can't make a profit with a basic laptop. You need the proper hardware and even then there is no guarantee that you can make money. Trading is simple, but profits are not easy with that either.

Mining and trading are not the same because mining needs more time in order to gain a profit from your capital while trading the capital can be hold and earn an income depending on what you buy and sell it and the most profitable way is trading that you can earn a money because of your knowledge and skills in trading.

You got 2 completely different things.

Mining = Using your computer to earn bitcoin.
Trading = Using already owned capital (bitcoins) to profit.

In the end, you can do both but they are completely different concepts and have very little correlation.

It's pretty much like saying, "What is the easiest way to earn? to be employed on this company, or to start my own business?". It will obviously be different for each person. If you're a good trader, then trade! If you have enough money for a good number of graphics card, then go mine! And guess what, you can do both! Deciding which is more profitable completely depends on you and your skills in probably calculating profitability taking into consideration the change in mining difficulty and the change in price, vs your trading skills.

Mining : you need gpu, a good cpu to start mining it, the price depends on how willing you spend your money to mine, you don't need any skill

Trading: you need a good skill and able to read chart and to speculate, you need capital to start, the capital to start is depend on how much you want to earn, for beginner you need to learn a lot before you can get profit

The best way to earn for me is trading because there are no limit amount that you can get, but need time and dedication to earn

Since you only have a laptop (and even if you do have a desktop) then you can not do mining...except maybe with new cryptocurrencies really designed that way but as to Bitcoin and other well-known coins you must buy a set of equipment whose main purpose is to mine cryptos. And they are not really cheap so you must have some capital before you can get into mining seriously.

Yes, with a laptop you can do trading but here you also need some capital though you can start as small as you want just to test the waters, so to speak. Trading can also be a very risky venture if you don't know what you are doing so I suggest that you take things gradually and invest more on the things you need to know before challenging the trading world.

What came to your mind that mining is similar to trading? While in trading you are indulging on exchanging your handle alts on different coins and you can actually earn more profits if your coins gets a higher price by the time you exchange it and while in mining you don't have to do anything since you only wait for the profits to came on your wallet. Maybe its better for you to read more articles about it so that you can differentiate the both platforms.

Mining has a big different to trading, your so ridiculous comparing those two are the same of course not. Trade is more on adding assets to your portfolio and it gives you a lot of money or if luckily can make you a millionaires. while mining, you will just wait for the return of of your ROI.

Trading and mining are different field in my opnion trading is very easy as you said much GPU i would suggest you that if you are trading it is mean that you are investing too while in my mining you need very hard work which is not that much easy what are you expecting so i would like to say that we should do everything with positive work.

Mining is the use of GPUs or sometimes CPUs of the computer to try to solve given problems to earn bitcoins in exchange. This is very different to trading. You do tradings when you want to earn profit to your current Coins. You try to buy coins as low as they can be and holding them as long as you can waiting for their prices to pump and then selling them. You do this every time and earn money from it.
Mining requires hardwares that needs to be use and some patience while trading requires skills, talent, experience, dedication and a lot of patience to be successful. Which of the two is good? Well for me, I would tell you that it is trading where you can get really big profits when done right and at the right timing.
