It's more realistic that they destroy the earths financal system once it's based on Bitcoins.
They plug in their computer and the difficulty gets ridiculously high, then they do a 51%99,9%attack or just plug it off and Bitcoin is dead xD

I guess they could gather a lot of wealth with mining, but not enough to rule the world. Half of the Bitcoins are already in human hands(, are they? *g*).
Would be a good starting point though.

Great idea though. Problem is you could replace "alien" with "any very big government" and have the same effect. Hard to blow governments the f88k away as well.
