Perhaps readying down the line once he loses the presidential elections?

Well I think this is another gimmick of the present administration to convince the people that they are all in for progress, while the SEC commissioners don't really care at all. Traders are eagerly waiting for just one ETF approval and I'm pretty sure the price will go nuts, but in reality even without ETFs, bitcoin can move forward though we have to admit that having such added into the economy just boosts the thing even further. Hopefully though this goes as planned and as advertised by the Trump administration, while a part of me don't really believe into it at all.

Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

That's an amazing news. Previously the US securities and exchange commission has rejected the Bitcoin ETF proposal multiple times. It is claimed that the new appointed us securities and commission head Elad Roisman might approve Bitcoin ETF soon.

Donald Trump’s latest SEC pick gives hope to future ETF, top Chinese court rules evidence on blockchain admissible and more.

It's interesting to see that pro crypto enthusiasts are on the Sec board, now 3 out of 5 on the board support bitcoins etf proposal. It's also pertinent to note they have already clarified there's no specific time limit when they'll approve it, which makes me wonder is this another ploy to delay the inevitable and cause panic?. Also isn't it questionable that these people are already biased towards bitcoins?, while I'm looking forward to the Bitcoins Etf their decisions may come under scrutiny later on.

Trump is very intelligent person, who understands what can be of value and what is not. He has a great influence not just because he is president, but because he is an intelligent person who knows how to overcome obstacles. His support for bitcoin will have a very significant impact on the situation.

If your analysis is accurate, why should prices fall?

you forgot to mention what makes you think "this time" will be any different from the 30 other times that they rejected ETFs not even including all the times they postponed it Cheesy

i may be wrong about this part but didn't SEC postpone their decision for 2019?

if this can be realized by Trump, then the price of bitcoin will be recovery again, but in my opinion it is a very difficult thing because currently the US and China trade wars are heating up again.

...
Also, ETFs could be a double edged sword for BTC/ETH, there's no guarantee it will cause a price spike.

I think an ETF approval would play out like the launch of the Bitcoin Futures.
A huge price rise in advance of the news of the approval and in advance of the launch
date. Afterwards a huge dump as people take profits. Bitcoin only really
goes on a crazy bull run if there is a catalyst for such a run (MtGox manipulating the market,
BTC Futures, block reward halvings...).

The current sideways price action is at least partly caused by the lack
of a catalyst for a bull run. Besides, the downside risk is also limited, because the price
is not much higher than the average cost of mining a single Bitcoin.

I think the US president will not directly affect Bitcoin. Because cryptocurrencies can negatively impact his reputation if the cryptocurrencies prove to be a failure.

It's obviously that SEC will delay the approval of ETF since there's no time frame and they'll use this to heightened the fears and uncertainty in the community thus manipulating the price.

I'll just grab my popcorn in the meantime and watch all these dramas to be over. Just too tired by this undying issue.

While you grab popcorn, may i invite you to see the world famous Bitcoin Obituaries?. They're right here: https://99bitcoins.com/bitcoinobituaries/

There is really no rush into getting some big change about Cryptocurrency approved so quick. They can still delay some months more, for example. Why not invest more meanwhile?

The people who have their eyes open and can really see are the ones who always gets the most benefits.

The tittle makes one think that there was no hope to begin with, but there was and is, the problem is that the Btc market is manipulated thus SEC has to protect investors.
Trump can have some small pressure but it coes down on the SEC commissionaires.
