There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.
Advertised sites are not endorsed by the Bitcoin Forum. They may be unsafe, untrustworthy, or illegal in your jurisdiction.

To prevent dump the coin maybe it should be better to accept masternodes? People who have 1000s of IRD will cooperate to get masternodes and wont dump their coins.
Or are there any other options to prevent people from dump?

Why in the world would masternodes prevent dumping? They aren't helping SnowGem or CheeseCoin, for two random examples.

The best thing that prevents dumping is an appreciating price, and price is more likely to go up if: 1) the devs are active; 2) the coin has an interesting use case or solves a unique problem; 3) the coin is marketed/promoted more than just the occasional post in the ANN thread; 4) the crypto market as a whole is going up.

Oh, and one other thing - there can't even be a whiff of scamminess about the coin.

I'll leave it up to the individual miner/investor to determine whether IRD meets any of the above criteria.

Hi fellows I wish good luck for the plan!
Most of all the key features of Iridium, I like its privacy and anonymity. Because by default with Iridium your transactions are not tracked, and the balance of your wallet is confidential.

Cryptonote doesn't need masternodes.
And besides that plenty of MN coins get dump as well.
The whole market is down. The only thing to prevent dump imho is a good exchange with little to no bots.

No masternodes are planned.

Development activity :
The webwallet/mobile is at prototype level. All the backend architecture is coded and run in testnet. Thanks to @daclasen for his high skills level in java : we now have a solid, scalable and secure architecture. We will announce and explain all about this when we will be ready. I will also  release a minor version update of the desktop wallet to fix the rss feeds news and the old sync problem that occurs occasionally. About the core, I fixed a bug that prevent the wallet daemon to synchronise from scratch and minors improvments. all of this works can be followed on our github organisation.
The woocommerce plugin is at beta stage. Feel free to find online stores that want to accept IRD payments, I will be happy to help in integration.

Interesting case :
(Is Monero an interesting case ? why do we need an interesting case ?) I'm thinking about one :
IRD blockchain run very smooth. Let's say : it just works ! It's interesting because it's not the case for all coins. Our target (blocktime) is 175.334 seconds since 60 blocks after V4 hard fork until now, calculation are made on 20128 blocks, this is a period of 40d 20h19m. So emission and rewards are exactly as announced. I know most of people don't care or even have no idea what this mean but this is a great performance. Also, an improved version of LWMA (LWMA-2) is planned, this new version should improve the reaction time in case of attacks but is not well tested yet. There is no need to rush as our version is currently running very well.

Marketing :
This is a community driven coin and I'm not a marketer, neither trader or miner. h0h0h0 propose solutions or events to spread the word but I think the community has a role here : propose, spread the word too, help or simply follow. We ask for 15k IRD to make a giant airdrop and we get currently 6k. With a current emission above 10M, I' m tending to think that most people are not in a community mind, so why helping them ? better let them dump.

About whiff of scamminess : If there is a whiff of scamminess, let me know, I will be happy to give true answers as I always do and the history of iridium is here, from beginning till now. I'm pushing this project till november and after 3 hard forks and about 150 commits (yes !) I think we can no longer doubt my involvement.

So am I and I make a point of honor on this aspect : since v4, a tx with a mixin under 3 will not be accepted by the network.
Every idea developed for future or near improvements start by this question : is anonymity respected ?

Yep. Privacy is a very important feature not to joke with.

The low price is preventing dumping. Just keep the price low Smiley

euh... no, the miner in the gui wallet is a cpu miner (not optimized) that point to a pools list that you can choose and edit.

In case you have not heard the news, MapleChange is now an official company registered in Canada. We will soon begin working on legalities in order to allow us to accept fiat deposits.

Wish people would see the promise in a coin that is completely ran by the community.  The guy who made it was a f*ckstick, but he's gone now and the "true" owners are the community.

Seriously hope this and ones like this succeed.  We don't need 10-15% premines or ICOs that rip everyone off now days.

Just so everyone knows http://ird.cnpools.space/ has 0% fees for the next week! So hop on over there and get earning!

Good time for people to hop away from cryptoknight onto a newer smaller pool, for the same rates!

Pool fee will be 0% Until July at the minimum!

Whatever the CN based I mine, it's never on cryptokinght. XMR, ETN on nanopool, iridium on the iridium fr pool, stellite on miner rocks...
