Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

The source code is linked. You can review it if you'd like. Also, if you have finished the P2Pool, please link us and your USC address and the coins will be sent.

Yes its scrypt. Bounties will be issued after we get a chance to test the relevant software written for USC. The same with exchanges, any exchange that adds it will receive a 1k bounty.

I don't trust it since there's been hacked BitCoin accounts, and they could most likely be linked to altcoin miners. When there's proof this isn't a scam or virus, then I'll probably use this.

Where do we see if we have unlocked said bounties ? I have just been reading, no one has really posted their address after they do the desired bounty though. I have gotten pms and distributed about 60k so far for various fixes and helping speed up adoption. So I have about 240k left to distribute as I go. If anyone did do something that will help the coin just post there or in the thread in alt currency and I will send to the address posted anyhow even if I cannot reply saying it was done yet. The p2pool creator is the only one I specifically asked for and was done but he hasnt posted an address yet so he is due usc bounty coins. If anyone has been missed or didnt PM me or reply about something they have done please let me know so I can check the work then get you paid.

I'm going to presume it's by design that the difficulty is so high? Block generation rate is nowhere near the 30 blocks per hour target its more like a block every 30-40 mins. This coin is dead in the water if it's going to take about 2 weeks at current hash rate for the difficulty to fix itself, it's also hard to get people to mine a coin with no reward so I don't really see extra hash power joining to fix it either.

You children are pretty delusional. Read your own damned links and think before you speak, damned punk Matthew . (recall how I said on btc-e I had wanted to troll you for a long time, lol). Seriously though, think about what your suggesting and read about the liberty dollar, because you are highly mistaken if you think 'us' is enough to make this cryptocurrency more of a target than btc... Do you even understand what motivates action in this country's government?

Yes, it's a step back in terms of time. 2 min blocks vs Litecoin's 2.5 minute blocks.

Yes, it's a step back in terms of time. 2 min blocks vs Litecoin's 2.5 minute blocks. But, how does it hope to compete with DGC and WDC, who have instant transactions? And what happens, if Hashrate is low, it'll take weeks to move it around...Won't it? What does this coin bring to the table?

If nothing else, he gets the reward, for fewest pages, in a new coin ANN thread...Complete Garbage.
I've spoken with the dev and he has given out bounties. You mad because you didn't catch the train? Nope, not really. Not even mad. I just find it funny. Since so few people even bother to post about it, it is obviously not a popular coin. Without strong community support, it will never go anywhere. Make sense? You can offer up all the bounties you want, still doesn't do any good, if very few people, are mining the coin...

2 minute blocks, isn't that like, a giant step backwards?
Yes, it's a step back in terms of time. 2 min blocks vs Litecoin's 2.5 minute blocks. But, how does it hope to compete with DGC and WDC, who have instant transactions? And what happens, if Hashrate is low, it'll take weeks to move it around...Won't it? What does this coin bring to the table? I don't really give a shit about any other coin besides LTC. USCoin is just something I was able to catch onto early. If nothing else, he gets the reward, for fewest pages, in a new coin ANN thread...Complete Garbage.

Second, Both WDC and DGC have very large community support, and DGC just survived a massive pump, and was not dumped into oblivion, like WDC was, and GLD has a fairly large cult following, mis guided as they may be.

Basically when you manipulate the retargets or block time, you directly effect the coins security. This should all be taken into account when investing in any of the new cryptos.

Around the time of the block reward increase, a non-malicious fork took place (one miner achieved a lucky streak). Although the only actual effect for the long-term operation of the chain is the possibly significant reduction in overall coins existing in a spendable state, the fork also demonstrates exactly why you do not want block discovery times under ~ 2 min. Although often overlooked, the block discovery time is integral to the security off the network. Neither bitcoin nor litecoin chose their parameters randomly. Having a good portion of your 'honest'/non-malicious network constantly behind due to floods of NB notifications is not a state any blockchain should target.

Until they are on an exchange, none of them are worth anything generally. That is why you get quality programmers on staff and do it yourself, you build benefit into your product rather than post and pray it gets accepted.

I noticed all these altcoins seem to aim for faster block time. I thought this speed was chosen by the creators of bitcoin to obtain a balance of speed and network security. From what i've read, network security is sacrificed when you choose a faster block time for a new coin. What is the argument that altcoin lovers have against this? Or are people simple falling for a "faster block time is better" perception that non tech savvy users (apparently) share?
If this perception is false, there should be a sticky thread explaining this so people can understand that faster isn't necessarily better, otherwise bitcoin would already be doing it...
If this perception is true, then bitcoins block time should be adjusted, right?

And that would matter why? Each coin has its own life once it leaves the gates.
If the block time gets to low it does sacrifice the security of the network. Someone with more knowledge could probably explain it, but I have seen several core devs state that it would cause problems if you go 1 minute or less or anything close to it like 1:15 also would probably be too low.

Sorta contradicts; Yes. Some people put time into something besides trolling every alt coin not DGC He paid someone to make it, in hopes to get rich quick. And this coin is worthless...Noone is buying it, in WTS threads, so, it has no value. Worthless..If people wat their coin to be taken seriously, the should probably wait until the shitcoin storm is over. Like, seriously? Do I need to hold your hand, and walk you through this? No ammount of happy thoughts, is going to save this coin

so then why doesnt bitcoin make it 2 minutes? Ask them. I would like to hear their honest answer, especially since it has forked already. The actual answer: bitcoin was the first in a long line of experiments. They decided to play it safe. If we have miners on mars, then the block find target makes more sense. I believe someone could tell us that there is indeed an ideal balance of orphans and blocks, because faster blocks do increase security in some measures but only if balanced with acceptable orphan rates (iirc). Hydro, find something to do you little punk (educated yourself and speak less), lmao. Joined in MAY with 1k+ posts? Please get a life for our sake, not only yours.

So what do you suggest, I should just stop mining it and go with DGC lol. Can you be more transparent? You should really change your avatar if you want to convince people that you are looking out for their best interests.
Do you actually believe in this coin? Or are you just being an ass? Because, literally, very few people, even want his coin for free. If people don't want it for free, what the fuck, in your retarded little world, makes you believe, that anyone would ever pay, or trade, for this fucking piece of garbage? Do you believe in life after love? Do you believe? I want to believe. I think we should all trust this guy he clearly has been here a while and knows what he is talking about since .... when did you register again? Ignore him, he's a fucking retard. Just a no life bitch trying to make some money off some shitcoins because he didn't catch the train.

Is English your first language? Terribly improper use of commas.

I downloaded your .exe and get the following error: cannot run program. libgcc_s_dw2-1.dll is missing. Fix this please. I should not have to compile your client myself. Or I can always go mine a legitimate coin...

threats don't work... the devs are working on a more complete package. But for this to work it has to be done perfectly. Look at all the coins that needed fixes...they were rushed and failed.

If you had any clue about what you are doing...since you mine "legitimate" coins, you would know that other scrypt coins have this dll file in their package. Try copy/paste (works miracles). *yes I flamed myself*

What was the starting difficulty, I didn't notice it in the original post.
Also and maybe more relevant, is there a plot showing how many coins were mined the first second, minute, hour, day, week etc?
(Including hardcoded forms of pre-mine.)

Are there ways to earn this coin without mining, maybe by writing?

If someone is interested in taking over dev for this coin PM me, I will push the left over bounty coins to the new dev and the domain and hosting (already paid for the rest of the year.)
