I was looking at the cgminer code and saw this

This wasn't mentioned in either http://mining.bitcoin.cz/stratum-mining or https://docs.google.com/document/d/17zHy1SUlhgtCMbypO8cHgpWH73V5iUQKk_0rWvMqSNs/edit?hl=en_US
So I am wondering if there is some updated version?
