Does anyone feel that there are too many alt coins popping up?

Does this help the sector at all with all these additions?

"The WorldCoin Team would like to announce the details of an upcoming patch to be released in late July/early August 2013 (block 518,401). Two main issues being addressed are current inflation level and mining orphan rate.

We would like to highlight a couple items before reviewing the details.

WorldCoin currently has a fast secure transaction time of 60 seconds. This is achieved by confirming a 15-second block four consecutive times. The update maintains the 60 second security time so the speed of a complete WDC transaction will not be altered.

Also, before the inflation correction occurs, we are allowing the community to continue to become early adopters by maintaining current coin production levels for the duration of this season. Once the new production rate has been reached, the same volume will be produced each month until the final blocks are mined. "

scamcoin the next the fail coin.

Except this coin actually offers something unique and wasn't premined to hell.

Instant transactions are a big thing for a variety of different markets.

Instant transactions its strength but its also its weakness.

In which ways?

If you really need to ask this question, your a embarrassment. Just shows the calibre of the team behind WDC  Roll Eyes

I don't really think so. LTC is the second biggest next to BTC and it's potential is rising not falling so WDC can become defunct before LTC even begins to fail.

I'm not going to say this won't eventually take off and be highly valuable in future, but it is a trifle depressing to witness the swarm of altcoins beginning to swell.

That's the innate flaw of crypto-currency:  they may guard against inflation, but nobody can control the "inflation of kind."
