The four hours is the real wall - why does everyone go on about the posts? It is not that hard to write five posts!

No - maybe because mine are somewhat useful and I display an actual knowledge of crypto (and they are more than 6 words long - on average). I didn't realise they did this I have never had that problem. Are you sure they do this? EDIT: Maybe they do delete posts like your one above - as it is so short.

The point of having someone post five times before being let loose is to build trust. If you're a one-timer that just wants to post a link to your new spam-filled site, not having five newbie posts will help to prevent that spam. This system is to (hopefully) determine if you actually want to contribute to the community.
Yup, that's an important part of it. You'll also find it handy when you're wondering whether to add someone to your ignore list - look back at their post history. If it's junk, it's probably safe to ignore their future offerings unless you're a masochist. I saw one today - dozens of posts, each with the single word "bump" - I imagine he thought he was beating the system. No matter - I'll never have to read his stuff again, and neither would you unless you choose to. Self-inflicted wounds, nice system.

I don't really get this either. Just because somebody is a noob automaticaly is a troll? or a a bot or whatever? Somebody needs to rethink this, this is a waste of time and time is money :X

Yea the 5 posts is nothing compared to the 4 hours of activity. At least there aren't any captchas here like on SR forum where you need 50 posts I think it was. That took me 4 hours in itself.

I think this restriction is simply forcing newcomers to post garbage. Why? Because most people will only actually register on a forum when they want to contribute to a thread they have been following, or to ask a question in same. Very frustrating. This forum is likely missing out on a fair amount of valuable contributions due to this restriction, because a lot of people simply won't bother.
