Hi,

It's not an issue caused by the miner. It seems to be a driver problem on your end. Maybe the update was not done properly. Try and reinstall the drivers and let us know how it went.

Hi @Avarice1of2,

Driver updates can sometimes cause problems and this is out of our hands. I am glad to hear everything is ok now.

Kindest regards,

Hi everyone,

On July 10th, the BTG Team has detected an extremely long attack against the BTG network, specifically a chain of over 1300 blocks that have been mined since July 1st 2020.

The Bitcoin Gold Team was quick to alert pools and exchanges to take measures immediately and many of them closed their wallets over a week ago.

BTG version 0.17.2 was supplied to replace the previous version, and it included a checkpoint at block 640650, hash 000000059ec8884fa4fbbdbe46c09cfb4ecba281dfa2351a05084e817c1200ae from July 2nd at 2am UTC.

According to the BTG team "With this block checkpointed, the attacker’s chain could not take over, but this information was not public, and the attacker continued to mine. The attacker mined their secret chain for nearly 10 days, renting power from NiceHash to do so. Today, on July 10, the attacker released over 1300 blocks. Because those attacking blocks are anchored at a block mined on July 1st (before the checkpoint), the honest pools and exchanges who are running the updated code automatically rejected the attacker’s chain."

In order to stay on the honest chain, BTG Core full nodes have been updated to version 0.17.2 in BetterHash. This way we made sure that mining in was not interrupted or affected in any way. The update is made in the background so there is no need for you to install anything.

We have updated our GRIN miner in expectation of the 17th of July hard fork that will occur for the Cuckarood29 mining algorithm.

The new miner will support the Cuckarood29 hardfork as well as the replacement of the now obsolete Cuckatoo31 with the new Cuckatoo32 algorithm.

The new version of BetterHash will be sent to you as an automatic update. If you read this message before the update arrives to you, you can download the latest BetterHash version at https://www.betterhash.net/bh/download/

After updating, we advise you to go to Settings / General and click on "re-download all miners".

To check if you have the updated miner, see if you have BetterHash version 3.147 with miners pack version 9.

Keep in mind that if you withdraw GRIN to your GRIN wallet, it should be updated to v4.0.0. If you exchange your funds to BTC you don't have to change anything.

Hi lionelnglk,

What happens exactly? Do you get any error message? Please go to Settings / General and uncheck "[ ] Miners start hidden". Let us know if you get any error message at all in the black command window.

Kind regards,

Daniel

Hi,

I believe the "cudaErrorInvalidValue" is generated by the CUDA driver. Please reinstall all GPU drivers...

I am having this exact same issue with Zcoin as well, same error message. Drivers are up to date. I have no problems mining other coins on Betterhash. It is very frustrating. Using GTX 1070 graphics cards.

Hi,

I am deeply sorry about this - but unfortunately we cannot offer any kind of assistance installing the right drivers. BetterHash will start and monitor the miners, will make sure they get restarted when needed, will notify you when something goes wrong, will convert your profits and more. However - making sure a miner (that was not developed by us) is works on your rig - is something we cannot help you with. We'd love to - but it's impossible to remotely debug such an issue.

Please search the ccminer forums for more info about this error - I still believe it's something related to your driver, as the miner starts correctly but then shuts down by itself.

Kindest regards,

Daniel

Hi

There is a lot of uncertainty about Ethereum Classic mining these days. After the network has suffered three double spend attacks, payments have changed and our users have been affected by that.

We have detailed the first two attacks here: https://www.betterhash.net/news/2020-08-11-betterhash-etc-ethereum-classic-attack.html

The main reason payments have changed is the fact that the confirmations number needed for a single payment is currently at 80 000 blocks, which roughly translates to 14 days. All payments that you receive are for the shares mined 14 days before the payment is made.

Last Friday was 14 days after the last attack took place. Since the mined blocks were taken over by the attacker, we only received some crumbs. This resulted in much lower than expected payments towards our users.

Since this is no one's fault, we believe you shouldn't have to suffer the consequences. We took it upon ourselves to compensate you for the loss and have sent an extra payment that covers what the attackers stole.

However, we cannot stress enough that all of you should switch to a different coin. All future payments will still be delayed by 14 days and more attacks may take place that will result in you taking a loss.

Thank you all again for trusting us.

Hi there,

A quick question.  I installed last night and ran it overnight, mining.  It seems like in the middle of the night Betterhash either re-installed or updated and all the icons etc. on my Windows went back to as if the program was newly installed (I had removed Betterhash from recently installed and moved around the start menu icon, etc.).

Does it automatically update or something?  Thanks

Hi there,

We sometimes perform automatic updates when we know it's something that won't cause any inconvenience to the mining process and it seems that you may have just spotted one. The new version should be 3.157. If you didn't experience experience any mining issues, then you are good to go. Happy mining!

Best regards,
BetterHash Team

New mining softwares should start building their separate OS like hiveOS and EthOS, I don't like running softwares to mine a certain algorithm cos I always notice a drawback with performance, OS works better, the interface or dashboard of betterhash looks so attractive and easily understandable, work on the OS

I'm a noob and am trying to understand a bit better about the income being generated.  I've been running for about 48 hours @ ~60MH/s.

BetterHash says at that hash rate I should be generating around  $4.93/day

In the app, it says my confirmed balance is 0.00005614 BTC
(Honestly I don't care about BTC, I plan to withdraw the ETH to an ETH Coinbase wallet but if we look at BTC, that's equal to $2.14 at BTC's current rate)

If I login to the BetterHash website I see

Confirmed   Unpaid Shares
0.00167890 ETH   2208 See payment estimation

and also

Total Confirmed Balance - USD and BTC conversion
0.00005614 BTC (2.12 USD )

I see no indication I'm making $4.92/day anywhere I can find.   I'm wondering if I'm reading something wrong.  Is that 2208 unpaid shares (2208 what?) not yet added into the $2.12 total maybe?
If I click the 2208 I see
Unpaid shares: 2208
Estimated unpaid balance: 0.00193200 ETH

That's another $2.45 for a total of $4.57 for 48 hours-ish.  Still about half of what I'd expect.    Any help appreciated in troubleshooting or understanding what I'm looking at if I'm not looking correctly.
