For some reason it has been in the back of my mind that ... Metal Recyclers could/should/optionally issue CopperCoins (instead of fiat?) when someone brings in copper for recycling Anyone out there have a 'IN' with any company that does recycling ? Would it be that hard to convince such a company to 'buy low, sell high = profit' Interesting idea. My only initial thought is that the recycling places I've ever been to (3-4 over the years) are among the most low-tech businesses I've ever seen. Might be a bear just getting them into the tech required to be able to process payments. Maybe the idea of going cashless though would be of interest to them, though.

I just read the first page of this thread. A total of 84,000,000 token supply is quite reachable specially if you have a good team. I also read statement "Coppercoin is an open source, global payment network that is fully decentralized without any central authorities." I got confused, what is the difference if the project have a central authorities and the project that don't have? Is there any disadvantages between the two?

Couple of thoughts there... I think Bitcoin, for example, is truly decentralized... no one group has supreme authority... lots of infighting and some groups have culled together enough sway to be influential... so say what you want about all that... but the idea is that Bitcoin can't be changed or manipulated to the whim of one person. Or one company. Or one large holder, etc. It's truly, globally, decentralized. Coppercoin no doubt has the mission to be such, but I'd fear at this infant stage its not actually decentralized. Only 2-3 pools available to mine. The only blockchain explorer and main pool are on CopperCoin.net, the main website for the project, and I think someone out there is paying to host a node for it. What happens if they change their mind? Does it come crashing down? Are there enough nodes to keep it alive? Not really sure the answers to this stuff because I haven't had the time to dig... but I think in order to begin its decentralization, it needs to be independent of one or two people who are probably keeping it alive right now. Maybe a good first step is for 2-3 of us to volunteer hosting nodes for the coin to keep it's pulse. Thoughts?

Hi everyone i am interested in mining this coin but cannot get it to work properly i had it working but i think i was solo mining cause i was getting nothing I have managed to get my litecoin minning working but coppercoin as soon as i add pool etc it doesnt work i think i am putting somthing in wrong
Below is the .bat file code i am useing
minerd.exe --url=stratum+tcp:http//us01.coppercoin.net --userpass=Pyro566.1:Pyro
And this is what i am getting From the Start.bat file when i run it.
C:\Users\Pyro566\Desktop\pooler-cpuminer-2.5.0-win64>minerd.exe --url=stratum+tcp:http//us01.coppercoin.net --userpass=Pyro566.1:Pyro [2018-01-23 17:20:16] Binding thread 0 to cpu 0 [2018-01-23 17:20:16] 4 miner threads started, using 'scrypt' algorithm. [2018-01-23 17:20:16] Binding thread 2 to cpu 2 [2018-01-23 17:20:16] Binding thread 3 to cpu 3 [2018-01-23 17:20:16] Binding thread 1 to cpu 1 [2018-01-23 17:20:16] HTTP request failed: Couldn't resolve host 'stratum+tcp' [2018-01-23 17:20:16] json_rpc_call failed, retry after 30 seconds
any help would be much appreciated. If i can get this working i don't have much hashing power right now but am looking into getting some mining rigs and will help support copper coin all the way through thick and thin as i think this is truly a good complementary coin for bitcoin and litecoin and fits the bill perfectly as far as i can see just needs a little TLC to help get it going
Also i managed to sync yesterday but my wallet today will not sync even 8 connections?? help with that would be appreciated aswell
Thank you, Kyle Hopwood

my wallet has now synced still would like a little help on the script to start mining I may be wrong but... remove http from the site (JUST the http... colons and slashes stay) See the Blockmunch pool ad on page 9 of this thread... no http there in the site address I do not believe mining involves hypertext transfer protocol

I am fully convinced that this project is good and will be successful in the future. every beginning is hard. I have only 3 problems with wallet. 1st last block 162424 is this morning 08:46 clock and nothing further happened. 2. Have sent to other Wallet Coppercoin, the kammen but on, but are not confirmed either with me or with the receiver. 3. The transaction from Cryptopia to Wallet does not work because it does not find Wallet's address. Is there a problem with Wallet? Should we maybe help the Dev? Request for feedback.

Recently started up a new pool on this great coin! LuckyAltcoin.com 0.5% Fees Username: Your CopperCoin wallet address Password:anything URL (vardiff starting at: 64 ): stratum+tcp://luckyaltcoin.com:7198 -o stratum+tcp://luckyaltcoin.com:7198 -u <WALLET_ADDRESS> -p x
Looks like this pool has bailed from Coppercoin already. Can we get some insight as to why?

Can we get some insight as to why? not a single person connect to it except for me since I posted.

Looks like this pool has bailed from Coppercoin already. Can we get some insight as to why? not a single person connect to it except for me since I posted. It kind of looks like there aren’t a ton of connections to the other coins either. Do you think you could reconsider and keep it up? I ask because the main coppercoin.net pool appears broken at the moment. No other options that I’m aware of. Would really appreciate your support.
