Hello, I have a question and I wonder if the BTG community can tell me truthfully. BTG was air dropped some time ago and since then there have been several reports by some users who used their software (the software listed on the official BTG web page, that is) that not only stole the BTG but also BTC and BCH in twin addresses (protected by the same private keys).

My question is if this thing has been solved, i.e. can I use the BTG official full node client without the doubts of possibility of jeoperdizing my accounts.

Thanks. Any thoughts welcome.

Never trust any wallet if you have to import your private keys. Move all your BTC out into a new address first. This way the private keys won't compromise your BTC. If you are entering an HD seed then first move your BTC to a new wallet with a new seed. Otherwise, yes, your coins will be in jeopardy.

Buy a Trezor and Protect your BTC, BCH, BTG, DASH, LTC, DGB, ZEC, ETH and ETC from hackers.

you just have to think of the ramifications to the control BTC and BCH have over crypto. When billions of dollars, maybe trillions are at stake, do you think you would try to sabotage the opposition? happens in the real world and crypto is a parody of the "real" world.

so is there a real community? or COULD there be?

everything I say is a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma. definitely not sound financial advice.

And all I am talking about is creating a safe haven for noobs, somewhere to go where you know they are keeping it real. Help noobies who know nothing about crytpto, the dangers, etc.

I'll give you an example, I bought a few GPU's and I am mining bitcoin gold and making a decent return. I can see an image of the future where I have escaped the rat race.
Maybe other real people would find this helpful.

didn't know this existed - GPU mining guide - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2088803

I guess the real problem is this forum is not a safe haven for anyone anymore, it is up to everyone to weed out the bad ones.

Then Hardfork in early August 2017 of Bitcoin cash, month / 11/2017 the next brother was born is Bitcoin Gold.
One of the main reasons to mention is the current Bitcoin facility change:

Part 1: Bitcoin Gold wants to change the way we train with Minning by improving training methods as well as helping the grid better. Exactly they want to remove the monopoly price monopoly of the ASIC chip.
Second: By reinventing the system, Bitcoin Gold wants to add more Bitcoin system inputs and make the Bitcoin Network more normal.
Great Bitcoin target of Bitcoin point is better than the high quality, override of a ty ty or organization.

But importantly it was born from Bitcoin, because of features like Bitcoin. Different major to self, philosophy.

So to get your personal Bitcoin Gold is just a kind of Altcoin, nothing special.  Smiley Smiley

My opinion about BTG is quite skeptical. Of course it may not like many, but still I think that all the forks of bitcoin are by and large not needed. They do not do anything new, of course, maybe they were temporarily popular, while they were faster than bitcoin, but now, as everyone knows, bitcoin integrates lightning into the network. And now what? It remains only the mining. But in fact

Forks of bitcoin are money grab, get rich quick schemes by the devs. Especially United Bitcoin which basically stole everyone's coin with their very rigid qualification rules. Most are crap and should go away.

Forks are like that seem only first one was legit I mean on bitcoin cash. Everything else is just for scamming others dont believe that we will see anything else from upcoming fork from bitcoin and some that are announced for ethereum as well. It will be more hit and run for me cuz not many will be on some exchanges.

ASIC resistant coin, doesn't suffer from the notorious rivalry and infighting introduced by some other BTC forks, this is a guaranteed buy especially if it dips below 150 USD during this crypto tumble.
