I think that Bitcoin gold already got their own wallet. I suggest using a wallet published in the official website.
They have already faced a hack and their wallet faced some sort of virus attacks, i don't know but i must say, "Don't use a third party wallet" otherwise, you'll lose your coins.

Third party things are generally to steal coins of bitcoin forks. People who got some fork coins after bitcoin forks, want to get their new coins instantly and they get fooled by other people, so called new coin's wallet creators.

I never heard this BTG coin. Can you guys please post an announcement thread so we can check - read their whitepaper and details?
If its equihash then its good for GPU miners. will make some profit but not sure if its listed in any exchange.

I found these two articles:

https://cointelegraph.com/news/suddenly-bitcoin-gpu-hard-fork-could-give-bitcoiners-more-free-money

https://bitcoinexchangeguide.com/bitcoin-gpu/

I believe they currently have Bitcoin Gold on the DEX (Waves Decentralized Exchange). Just like how they have Bitcoin Cash when it first came out.
For me it is not posible at all . Just like every other bitcoins , we cant predict bitcoins cycle . Maybe someday its not posible to have that kind of bitcoin gold . I think its pretty much expensive.

I am still waiting for Poloniex to add this coin, not sure they will without the security of a wallet that they can trust.

Why you need a Poloniex for? Don't really see anything special about that exchange anymore.

To ensure the safety of the Bitcoin ecosystem, Bitcoin Gold has implemented full replay protection and unique wallet addresses, essential features that protect users and their coins from several kinds of accidents and malicious threats.
