What about bitkan.com/event taking place 9/20 with Roger and Jihan and McAfee? Never thought they would do that, shooting down one of their most promising industries. Will unprofitable mining equipment get shut down now? The really huge mines are in china, matter of fact.

As I know chinese are the reason why bitcoin price is rising. Banning bitcoin in china greatly affects bitcoin price also making the community worried since there are no chinese investors. I think bitcoin is a threat in their currency that is why. But it is still not a deep reason to ban it.

I don't think Chinese will leave the ship anyway. The government believes it can control a decentralized currency. When the pressure falls, and when investors understand that no government is involved in about Bitcoin, the shining days will back. But .. When?

Surely this can all affect all of cryptocurrency but at the end of the day Bitcoin and the whole cryptocurrency can all survive without China. We just have to look at the many big companies not having any presence or revenues coming from China like Google and Facebook. In fact, the whole of cryptocurrency can be much better if we all kick these Chinese out of the platform...not I hate Chinese but because there government is causing much pain to Bitcoin.

No it's not. All countries play a role. Bitcoin is a threat to all centralized government currencies. We'll still have to wait for an official statement from Chinese exchanges but I think this closure isn't a coincidence.

Well, let us just be thankful that it didn't occur in our country. I guess they sense something wrong in there or maybe it way out of their Chinese tradition.

Closing it down on those things will really be a loss to them and they do really hold up the largest mines and they wont close such thing because they earning decent piles of bucks on this alone. If they did ban exchanges then I do believe it would be just temporary and later on they will re-enable it again. haha. As I have read they will shut down exchanges on Aug 30.I don't know if its true or not because I don't really care at all on this kind of News.

First there where insiders anonymous statements. Yesterday Charlie Lee said he has also insider info confirming it. And today we have this: https://twitter.com/YourBTCC/status/908285586368167936

Bitcoin poses more threat to the US dollar than to other fiat currencies as the US dollar is more commonly used in the world. The main reason why China is banning Bitcoin exchanges is to protect its people from losing their money on some shabby ICOs, but banning the exchanges is overkilled and totally unnecessary.
While other countries are attempting to get into the Bitcoin mining business, Chinese government is depressing it. Bitcoin mining brings good business to the Chinese community (in hardware sales and mining profit), but with the Bticoin exchanges banned, the business opportunity is depleted.
Hopefully, the ban will be temporary and short. They did ban Bitcoin once (for 4 months?). When the ban is over, the price will recover again. From the historic record, Bitcoin is strong and can withstand all these obstractions. I am wonderinig if it is just one exchange banned or there will be more.

BTCChina is closing down confirmed by the ownsers and Reuters. What do you need more? It is likely you guys are a bit mentally challenged. Shutting down an exchange is no "BTC Ban". Especially not when "insiders" say it.

I don't think Chinese will leave the ship anyway. The government believes it can control a decentralized currency. When the pressure falls, and when investors understand that no government is involved in about Bitcoin, the shining days will back. But .. When? China wants to ban bitcoin in its country by hook n crook because they know that all the physical currencies will be vanished from the world if bitcoins take over the world. Bitcoin has introduced a decentralized economic system which is challenging for the world’s strongest economic system and is a threat to them. But this will not affect bitcoin at all. Although fluctuations may also occur in prices bitcoins due to banning.
