Hey what do you guys think of JSEcoin? You can use your browser to mine their coin via their website. Even more interesting, you can earn mining power from the visitors to your own website.
Think its pretty cool, but as long as the coin is not on the exchange, I'm not sure what return to expect.

Not on an exchange = worthless at best, or scam.

I'm no longer legendary just in my own mind!

What's stopping someone from porting the JS miner to another language with higher performance?
Once CPU and GPU miners are developed, web mining will become useless. The design looks very flawed.

I am not sure. Is that what is happening to nimiq? Perhaps there is a way to prevent.
I can imagine you replace all adds on your website with this mining. Imagine no adds but just a slight bit of mining instead.

Been checking the code after watching this post. The code is flawed and can easily be compied to be mined on CPUs/GPUs. But they are still at the stating stage of the project, and i like the idea very much. Getting rid of adds is the best idea ever  Grin

The "browser mining" would still have to use system resources that would be used for "normal mining". What's to stop them from using your system hashpower to mine useful coins in the background and paying you a few meaningless tokens that can't be exchanged or spent anywhere, but hey it has a pretty dashboard!

My private opinion is that approach is illegal. However I found a solution that is really interesting because a user is aware of what is going on:

Hey try to open the access link: https://jsecoin.com/whitepaper.pdf

You can see how the system works, basically jsecoin just like any other project, jsecoin has a form value paltform in the form of a token.

I think it looks like doing mining by buying some hashrates on the system, basically it can be said as a mining with cloud system, I am very worried about the system because most of them often have big risks.

If you say about referrals that can make you earn more money then it is the hallmark of the system I mentioned, it is profitable but you have to try hard to attract users and then the results you get do not have any certainty, once again please read first so that what you do is not in vain.

note: I have such an opinion because I've experienced a bad thing with some almost similar schemes, everyone has experienced different things and everyone is entitled to give his opinion.
