Nowadays there are a few countries where online gambling is regulated and people from that country can only play on regulated sites. For example, in Spain you can only play in .es sites, like pokestars.es, bwin.es and so on. If you are from France you can only play in .fr sites, like pokerstars.es. In Italy, you can only play in .it sites, and so on.

That is when we talk about FIAT but I have been trying to find info about the legality of playing in bitcoin sites if you are from one of those countries but I can’t find any clear information.

I have an endless respect and freedom against all gambling games in the country we are in. I have been using gambling sites that I have been able to play with Bitcoin since 2010, so far I have not had a problem.

I agree that it would depend on the legal view of Bitcoin in the certain country. In my country, Bitcoin is also not recognized as a currency but rather as 'property'. With this kind of view, Bitcoin does not have any legal tender. From this I could not deduce what the stand of my country is with regards to online gambling sites, although it is regulated for fiat online gambling sites.

It may be legal because technically Bitcoin is legal to use in my country. This could be the same situation in other countries because most jurisdictions do not specify on the legality of online gambling sites.

in the USA, bitcoins are considered "property." i don't think there is federal precedent, but there was a case in the state of nevada where the operator of a BTC poker site was prosecuted. nevada is one of the few US states that regulates online poker. they charged bryan micon with operating an unlicensed internet gambling business. at the time, he was running seals with clubs poker room from las vegas. it was bitcoin-only.

so from that perspective, i would think that the US hasn't gone after bitcoin gambling sites because none have been big enough. nevada had just passed online gaming regulations and wanted to make a point.

Bitcoin gambling sites are the most common internet to go of all bitcoiners. When it is regulated in one country it doesn't mean it is illegal but they're is list of rules and regulation that must be followed and not meeting one it might cause closure or suspension. I've heard about USA as one of the strict that implement of this kind of business online. It is much better to be regulated than restricted in the long run we can adapt to it.

I don't know the exact legal status in Spain but if they have made it illegal to gamble at overseas Bitcoin casinos then that law is totally unenforceable. Bitcoin casinos are totally anonymous so as long as the customers are careful not to disclose their real-life identities they should be OK.

The casinos, however, do have to be a bit more careful and comply with the regulations where they are registered and also protect themselves from possible legal action from abroad. Spain is not on the list of countries that have threatened any legal action against casinos for providing services to its citizens, unlike the USA. That's why they block US IP addresses. by doing that they can argue that they have taken necessary steps to prevent US customers using their service which should be enough, in theory, to get them off the hook if anyone gets caught using a VPN.

A lot of countries ban gambling, but if you're into esports betting and tournaments, you have to check out Unikrn. They launched their ICO UnikoinGold last month and the sale is ending in three weeks. Incredible concept and they're one of the only legal platforms out there. The State of Nevada has already shut down a popular Bitcoin poker site in the past. Unlike the gamblers themselves who can stay anonymous, gambling operators are going to find it somewhat difficult to evade the law when it comes after them. The entire situation is similar to how the government can't reasonably track down and tax every single Bitcoin transaction, but it can guard the entry and exit points by regulating exchanges.

Depends on the drafting of the legislation in the respective country - placing a bet can mean placing a bet in any form irrespective of whether it is with fiat or not. I would think it is unlikely that there is a loophole in respect of gaming. As a lawyer in Gibraltar, I've looked at this from the B2C perspective and conclusion is that even if an operator is accepting bitcoin and not fiat, it is still deemed as gaming. By law the government may claim the provider that he was not provided access for the people of this country but you are not an offender if use of these sites for yourself.

I know that in some Muslim countries you visit sites with gambling may have problems but these countries are not democratic. There a man may be condemned under Sharia law. I recommend OP to use to visit banned sites public access points to the Internet. Always better to be safe.

I think it is the same with us but bitcoin is not strictly prohibited nor supported fully by our government. Our president once stated that he will remove online gambling sites because most are deemed scams or phishing company. I would agree with him but this issue is not being faced fully because of some legislative issue trying to take down each other. Most gambling sites that i know outside my country sometimes ends in .com and .io. But so far I just use freebies to bet.

it would be depends on the country government rules and regulations.in my country it is nor legalized. in my country were betting on horse race, cards game, and cricket betting and they will keep in the jail or giving them fine.gambling is totally prohibited in my country but in some places it may running with politicians support and other richest persons support.
