But there are some other factors like duplicate Bitcoins in market. Another powerfull crypto currency. Or like china if other countries ban Bitcoin.

Bitcoin has remained as the king of crypo currencies for the past eight years.Till,now,there is no other coin which has the potential to replace bitcoin.Monero,zcash despite providing full anonymity unlike bitcoin also have failed to compete with bitcoin. Legality issue also will not affect bitcoin since it has been legalized in just one or two countries and still it is traded successfully all over the world.Demand for bitcoins is also not an issue since we could find the demand for bitcoins increasing continuously.So,no issue of price falling to zero. But when quantum computing gets introduced after twenty years,it might become a serious threat to bitcoin.It's said that quantum computers would easily read the private key of bitcoin wallets from public key.So, bitcoin's security might get compromised and preventive measures should be taken from now itself to avoid such issues. |

Actually, no one can destroy bitcoin unless if some people do not believe in bitcoin. In addition to that, I think bitcoin will be destroy if it is banned globally and if no one imvest in bitcoin I think it would bs destroy. Lastly, I do believe that it won't happen because it will have negative effect to all bitcoin users. |

I think is WE ARE. if we the Bitcoin community no longer want to use bitcoin and nobody uses bitcoin then Bitcoin will be worth zero. to destroy Bitcoin I think not yet. |

First of all, bitcoin depends on its users and I beleive that only them decide if bitcoin will survive or not. If they will use it bitcoin will not disappear from the scene. But I know there are also some conspiracy theories where banks will join together to ruin the bitcoin but I don't beleive this is going to happen.

1. No one believes in bitcoin (because of something).
2. World war.
3. When the power grid/internet has been shutdown.
Your option 2 and 3 may can destroy the whole world, not only the bitcoin. Some computer scientists say quantum computers are moving closer to reality and will destroy the whole encryption systems which are being used now. Thus the bitcoin system is totally on risk and could be destroyed if the quantum computer comes into reality. If you google " quantum computer " you will get tons of result about how it effects on btc. |

None? as long as the nodes of bitcoin will still actives to secure the bitcoin network around the world, but according to the recent news and it seems the government is be able to control bitcoin through give a limit to the exchange sites or even banned it from their countries. But bitcoin is about freedom of use. It's true that there no given thing that could destroy bitcoin for now. Because as the days goes by , new development and innovation also happens to bitcoin resulting for a better form of bitcoin that could serve people on transaction, investments and trading that is a good thing for Bitcoin development and increase for its value. |

I'm not so sure someone can destroy bitcoin, if every country prohibits trading with bitcoin, of course bitcoin will be destroyed. but it is not possible.

be sure nothing can destory Bitcoin  I dont think so, but the only one who can destroy bitcoin is bitcoin itself in which if this isnt functioning well, or the amount depreciate in its lowest peak , failed transactions, scam signature campaigns it will definitely be gone, who will gonna be interested in investing here? I think so.Some speculation may come that bitcoin will be gone if there is possible other crypto-currency who will sprout in the next few years and run Above bitcoin and where in users could be more profitable. |

A popular person who will make a lot of ruckus and bitcoin users be affected.
Conclusion is we are the one who will destroy it. The holders the users and all who have satoshis or bitcoin in their wallets.
Just imagine if no one is holding it anymore and every bitcoin is out in the market. There will be no value anymore and what sense of having it if is almost dust that you are carrying.

This is old question, and there are older threads that have same question in headline. I'm not surprised that this question is still have a lot of attention from people, some of you are new here and you wish to know what can destroy bitcoin.
There are many theories what can destroy bitcoin and from all of them I liked just one and that is new technology. Today blockchain represents innovation, but technology made more progress in past 20 years then in 100 before, and what can we expect to happen in 20 years from now? If something new appear that can move bitcoins on second place. What am I talking about is visible, do you know what is mining rig and did you ever saw one? Who knew about thisbthinfs 5 years ago? What will they invent in next 50 years? Think about this.
