Academy Award winner Jamie Foxx has entered the cryptocurrency promotion fad. The celebrity in a Twitter post endorsed an upcoming ICO for Cobinhood - Zero Fee Cryptocurrency Exchange. That sale is currently underway, according to its website, netting about 17,840 ethers (worth approximately $5.1 million at press time) to date.

What do you think about another celebrity endorsing ICO?

Good to know that the ICO is branded by a star. Looks like it is being branded .

I Like the concept of 0 fee exchanges as there has been rip off on coinbase and other sites when you tend to buy coins as entry point. Hope cobinhood will do well in ICO and as an exchange.

I don't care about random (and particularly US) celebrities... they're just some humans like you and me and go to the toilet just the same

hype for nothing.

and paid celebrity shill involvement for me personally means to run away, same reason I ridicule Stox because of this mayweather dude LOL!

celebrity promotion = crap coin

After Paris Hilton and Mayweather did the same and dipped the market, this to me is a sign that we could be heading to a crash. Don't get me wrong, I like the new attention but when teenagers start talking about investing money, is a sign to me that we're heading to unwanted attention from governments...

This is not fair enough to use celebreties to promote crypto projects. I think they should be decentralized at every step. Including PR.

This is getting out of hand... I wonder how much they pay those celebs though. Must be at least $10,000.

I'm not butt-hurt here but this is somehow getting ridiculous and out of hand?  Huh Don't get the wrong idea because I see the benefit of having a celebrity or famous person endorse your ICO. This will do so much good for their project as it will get more attention from the mainstream community and will net them more funds. But my point is they must be endorsing this ICOs without any knowledge about it. They are just there for the money.

This will become the trend in the coming days as the PR management of any ICO will try to hire famous individuals to shill their coin to the public. I'm gonna be honest here. I just didn't imagine that this will happen in the cryptospace - famous celebs/person advertising ICO projects.

That is pretty crazy I must say ... Both the 0 fee and the Jamie Foxx thing.

Also, I just verified it by going to Jamie Foxx's Twitter account and it is in fact his last tweet (19 hours ago).

I wonder how much he got paid for that ...  Huh  Grin

USA celebrity promoting it, that's when I know it's a scam, if not a scam, they are very bad at managing money and it's a bad investment. Cheesy

Anyway, that's one of those big red flags not to invest.

Plus, their brand is a ripoff:

Its easy to make someone tweet the project. Give them bitcoin and your project would be twitted. I am enough investing to project like that. I put some money to exscudo and now 2 weeks before test net..

Only stupid fans would buy the coin from the ICO. Wait look at the hashtags, looks like a paid post. Even May Weather promotes the ICO of Centra. I hate paid Twitter ICO promotion by celebrities. But I believe it has a huge impact. I do not under estimate the power of a famous man to move market using his influence.

Celebrity promotion stunt is getting a hype these days as I have seen Centra doing one with Floyd Maywether. I dont know how many of their followers get into ICO's but it is bringing a huge income to the celebrities and they are trying to get that advantage.

Zero fee exchange, that's an interesting idea. I mean they will need to make money somewhere through transactions otherwise there is no return for the investor then. Perhaps there is different model, might check it out.

First we see floyd mayweather endorsing stocx and then next he endorsed centra with DJ khaled. Now we see another celebrity promoting ICO and now it is getting mainstream. I guess few months from now bitcoin and other cryptocurrency will be showing on TV's.
