ok, I've been trying to fix up this Wikipedia article since the writing in most places is very bad. Here's some tips for other editors:

- Do not put sources in the middle of sentences. They go on the end otherwise it makes reading very difficult and breaks up the flow.
- Paragraphs should not be too thick, nor too thin. Too thick = wall of text. Too thin = jumpy interrupted reading.
- Therefore, however, also <- useless fluff. Unencyclopedic 'filler' words
- Some organisations (who?), ... Some (who?)... After an amount of time (when?)... A number of traders (which?)... Be highly specific and exact with your wording. Better to list the exact traders or exact number; five traders do X.
- "and use the Bitcoin software to trade bitcoin money" <-- I think it's clear that Bitcoin is software and that it's trades money which are called bitcoins. Better would be "and use Bitcoin to trade."
- OH WOW ZOMG LOOK IT HAS ALL THESE FEaTURES. don't do that either. state facts.

kk get cracking.

Just a minor correction, the name Bitcoin (or bitcoin) is used threefold and should be clearly stated:
  • There's Bitcoin the Protocol: the underlying communication agreements and mechanisms that are platform and software independent, well sort of, as soon as we get alternative clients.
  • There's Bitcoin the Software implementation, what I like to call the main stream client, written by Satoshi and maintained by the community on this Forum
  • There's bitcoins the actual currency unit managed by the clients in the network.
So before starting the wikipedia article I think we should be clear about what we are writing for. I'd say the network as such is more important than any single implementation, and we should write about Bitcoin the Software as a section in there, and not make it the main character in our narration.

Donated.  The article looks a lot better than it used to; much less "bitcoin community self-promotion" which is good.

Should the term "blockchain" be explained before it's used, or replaced with "transaction history"?

Singular of course, it is just Bitcoin.  But is the plural Bitcoin or Bitcoins?

I will send you five Bitcoin.

Did lots of work this morning. Check it out.

I used Bitcoin to refer to the software. Bitcoin protocol for the protocol. And bitcoin for the currency.

It's hard for us Europeans to get bitcoins... might motivate to work more on that article if I get some donations going Wink
Compare with earlier article: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia:Article_Incubator/Bitcoin&oldid=401594747
great work. Send you some coins.

By the way, if you want to buy bitcoins via Euros, you can do it on MtGox (see add funds right on the bottom of the page)

I am a Wikipedian myself, so I'll try to help a bit with this.

One thing that you need to understand: notability is established by significant coverage of the subject in reliable secondary sources, per the general notablity guideline.

The article's content is OK in general, so you'll have to focus on proving its notability.

yes, depending onthe exchange rate. You should ask mtgox directly about the details

Sadly I use GBP and eCardOne charges 8%, Liberty Reserve charges 2% and mtgox charges 1% = 11% lost.

BTW Thanks so much for the donations! Very nice surprise to have gotten Smiley

Guys we just passed reinclusion into Wikipedia!!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Article_Incubator/Bitcoin

It should be reinstated soonish!

Indeed I see only "Pass" for each assessment.

However, I guess only an administrator can put the page back.  I guess they won't hurry.

We have a heavy media coverage. We're on slashdot, again.

http://yro.slashdot.org/story/10/12/12/0647203/WikiLeaks-Money-and-Ron-Paul.

This should be more than enough for inclusion.
