I think those new altcoins popping up from anywhere are no problem for the community or a threat to other coins.

Why?

- strong coins with support by community and/or developers behind it, like LTC, WDC, PXC (!) and FTC, will survive anyway
- by moving away hashingpower from these coins to P&D coins, difficulty drops and more coins for you and me Smiley
- coins that are "pump & dump" will die eventually, only coins that can be actually spend somewhere or adds new features has any chance of surviving
- Cryptsy can't just add altcoins forever, nobody visits an exchange where you have to scroll down 26 pages to find a coin  Grin

Just support your own favorite coin(s), the strongest one(s) will survive eventually!

The true strenght of an altcoin is you!
Stand by your coin!
Ask not what your coin can do for you, ask what you can do for your coin!
Let the coin be with you!

You're joking, right?

This shows a bit what I mean Smiley Why bother to criticize anothers coin? What good does that to the cryptocurrency community? What do newbies think of it? Does it attract people?

Why not "what's the strenght of the coin you support" instead of "your coin sucks".

PXC, as an example, has real (!) developers that are slowing down PXC to exchanges (no pump & dump), they created a "free of charge" escrow service to prevent scamming, they create a casino, give away free roll plays, respond to problems, are contacting other game developers to add PXC support, etc.

WDC has a large, growing community.
FTC community set up a bounty to make it survive to the next hardfork (although it's stuck again for a bit but they made real effort!)

What's the strength of the coin you support? Why do you support it?

edit: where did your message go, bcdev?  Huh

I think these new coins are no longer a threat to the community unless they come up with something really good and have a marketing budjet.
Those times where a clone can be slapped and posted on the forum are gone.
Bad thing it CLUTTERS the alternate crypto section

As mentioned, they are no more than clutter. Basically they are the same as my little pony images. No one asked for them, but they are everywhere.

After some time, something like 3-5 coins are gonna be standing. BTC will be one of them, but who will be the other ones....?

Namecoin has a lot of potential, just needs a little more infrastructure. It has the potential to revolutionize the DNS system.

Pretty much every coin that listed on Cryptsy gets dumped. People just don't have the BTC to keep buying some of every coin that comes along. The plethora of alt coins has saturated the market, and people are moving back to the older more stable coins. The alt wars are coming to an end I think. I am not going to mine coins that can't hold their price.

GLD and PXC have the same block re-target flaw, they are both ill conceived.
I won't mine either. At least FTC was smart enough to learn form their mistake of copying LTC.

Not your business, maybe even some of your loved ones  Grin

That's not the point, point is that there is 237 threads like this opened daily with random people trying to enrich us with their views and sympathies or opposite of that toward some coin(s). People built and marketed Facebook and Twitter for such stuff. This is forum, unfortunately awfully moderated one so it gets flooded with threads tt talk about same subject.

Why the fuck people feel that we need their opinions about coins in new thread while there are 200 blocks of such threads already?

WDC - best growing community - with lots of the current community promoting and developing coin services - big things happening soon herer.. -FAST

DGC - very good deveoper support - community a bit smaller - although its slower coin production makes it a perfect coin for daytraders for big pump n dump operations -FAST

GLD - The rumours have plagued this coin -premined, trojans in wallets - forum shows some activity - But does'nt seem it is getting the level of development the above coins are getting..

PHX - Not sure on this one.. the currently designed casinos and things looks amazing - developer has some talent.  But I think a lack of being early on exchange means less people are likely to get invested in the coin, meaning slower community growth - coin could be a dark horse Smiley

other new coins = crash and burn -

MC2 - I think this coin could take off - new features - and time taken to develop it is always a good sign..
