Who in their right mind would want to accumulate that? It's purely speculative asset with no long term value.

I've been watching Mysterium price charts lately and it looks like whale accumulation period during the past few days. Downtred suddenly stopped and reverted, trading volume increased, with a few big volume spikes. Still they try to keep the price relatively low. And all this just a few days before monthly development news are expected to be published.

That looks more like an accumulation IMHO.

This. The whales can only pump low volume coins, and coins with thin order books. You can move a coin quite a bit if the sell walls are thin.

The more liquid and heavily traded a coin is, the less volatile, and the whales tend to avoid those as it takes bigger $$$s to shift the price.

The ETH whales are the ones who are the most active in alts, I believe. They hold so much ETH and can afford to spread this out across several ICOs, to diversify out their ETH since it is impossible to exchange it all to fiat in one big dump. You want to have a clue? Just look for new ICO tokens that have managed to keep GREEN despite BTC and other alts moving down to RED.

Yeah waves is a strong buy imho and it is in a good buyrange. They have a very active and good dev and theyre doing great marketing to promote their coin. Its a good long term invest and a lot of whales grabbed it in the last time. It just needs a little bit more time. When the time has come, it will be huge!

Whales are everywhere. Even in shitcoins, whales are earning big profits. Remember, they are whales. They will not only cause pumps, they will also cause dumps with all their very big coin holdings and strategies. They will dump and buy as much when the price is already low.

Top projects are where whales are lingering. But I think some whales are also playing the bottom projects because they can easily manipulate the prices there. Whales are greedy. The are the huge ones that will somehow affect the movements of the charts.

Just 1btc and the price of any altcoin will change dramatically and just a little trolling on exchange chatbox, facebook, twiiter or telegram and they're going to exit happily with big profits after the sudden pump.

The Whales are probably investing in Ethereum and purchasing them while the price is low. They might have a feeling that the price could go to a $1,000 per coin.

Whales are the reason NOT to buy into a pump. They'll use their massive buy orders to drive the price up, and then sell/pull out so it collapses and they can buy on the cheap and do the same again. Be very very careful when buying a coin that's on a rapid increase/pump, check out the buy and sell orders, are there any walls etc? Generally, try to avoid. If you get whales buying your coin, make sure you sell before they move on, but try to avoid joining in when they strike...even if it pays off once in a while, it'll end badly.

Size of what you call whale depends on a project. For bitcoin you must have $100M+ of cash you can risk. For smaller projects $1000-worth could be a whale. I would think of a whale as of someone who has enough funds to keep buying (or selling) moving the price 20-30%. Look for daily trading volume on coinmarketcap to get an estimation of how much money you need.

'Whales' are always accumulating and dumping across all coins in order to influence the price and take their profits. If you follow a certain market it is so clear to see when whales are using their financial strength to influence the market.

This scenario is not new in crypto and whales plays a big role in the market so for as long as you know that you invested in the right coin you don't need to worry anything.

The majority of coins which have been red some time now is accumulating, this is simple. Now you do not have to be bright to earn some money, buy and hold some time.
