how many of these do i need to mine off to be cool/get laid?
We do not have a perspective on the value of each coin in an exchange, but mining is now yielding enough coins because the difficulty is moderate, take advantage of that moment because when the difficulty is high, you will mine a few coins.

i've been going at it a couple of days now. cat pool has been working best for me. miner kept crashing on the other two. and yes, i have noticed that difficulty has already gone up significantly

I transferred around 42000 from my linux wallet to a windows wallet yesterday and that same amount I transferred still says "locked amount" for the same 42000 amount that I transferred yesterday.  Is this broken?

The amount may remain locked for a few days, the same has already occurred with Dashcoin, Bytecoin and Monero, I also recommend continuing the solo mining until the amount is unlocked.

Tip: Do the mining through a mining pool.

We cannot stress enough how important it is to treat you wallet like you'd treat cash. Make sure you know where you save it, like you'd know where you keep you physical wallet. Be careful when writing the password. Don't forget it. . Make as many backup copies you see fit of the wallet, the password, and keep them safe, just like physical cash.

Please, to all new users, show images from (First steps with HCN) in https://hcn.pool.cat/en/#getting_started   Wink

I'll soon create some basic steps to mine with xmr-stak...

exactly, keep backup the wallets, do not give the password to anyone, and much less leave the password stored in Notepad on your computer, it can be easily hacked (many people do this).

Yes, you can, start mining with Claymore GPU Miner software. (recommended)

sample config?  doesn't seem to be working on claymore xmr GPU software (version 10.2, it's the latest)

edit, here's what i did with 4x 7950 ::

Code:
setx GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR 1
setx GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_SINGLE_ALLOC_PERCENT 100

timeout 10
:loop
NsGpuCNMiner.exe -xpool stratum+tcp://hcn.pool.cat:3434 -xwal [your wallet address] -xpsw x -h 650
timeout 6 /NOBREAK >nul
goto loop

get a lot of weird messages before and after making the "-h" tag in there.  tells me I'm using 2.7Gig ram with this -h setting so I guess this is okay with a 3GB ram video card but i'm just guessing.

The strange warnings about the -h setting seems to have stopped.  I'm getting about 450 h/s per 7950.  about twice what I got with cpu.

So if the coins I transferred were solo mined, I have to carry on solo mining to unlock them in my wallet? I am mining with a pool now but I don't want to lose those 80k coins. Thanks.

Hi, do a backup of your wallet first, show images from (First steps with HCN) in https://hcn.pool.cat/en/#getting_started

Because you are doing it wrong. Once you are logged into the HCN Wallet click "Receive" does that Wallet Address match up with the one in your mining config? If not you need to find that .wallet backup and open it in HCN Wallet. Then you should have your coins.
