@14kvision
It is normal and okay as on the price sources a coin pair has never the same value. See this FAQ "Coin Price / Value Does Not Seem Correct" (https://cointracking.freshdesk.com/a/solutions/articles/29000018057?lang=en)

It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.
Advertised sites are not endorsed by the Bitcoin Forum. They may be unsafe, untrustworthy, or illegal in your jurisdiction.

So what exactly is the Purchase Value and Sale Value then?  If I were to enter a trade manually for instance, how do I calculate the Purchase Value and Sale Value of a trade manually?

It is price times (*) amount of your coins. Either on sell or buy site.

So if you are manually calculating the purchase value and sale value for a trade, the numbers would always be the same then, no?  If not, when would they be different?

They would be different if you take other prices from other sources. We take them from ours as described here: Fiat, coin and commodities price sources, individual exchange price, change Fiat account currency (https://cointracking.freshdesk.com/a/solutions/articles/29000007214?lang=en)

Happy and prosperous new year to everyone.

Can you please guide me in the right direction for the suggested method of tracking long or short call/put options that are either exercised or go expired?  I trade on LedgerX (now FTX) and I'm having difficulty determining the proper accounting instructions.  Thank you

Is there a way to bulk import a CSV file with spend/receive attributes? The default bulk import option seems to classify each transaction as a trade. Thanks for any help, hoping to avoid a manual import line by line for mining rewards...

You cannot bulk edit or import the asset values and our custom CSV import does not support all transaction types yet.
But you can bulk import "mining" (in) or "spend" (out) transactions via our Excel Template and the Excel Importer (https://cointracking.info/import/import_xls/).

Hi Andreas

I guess you have an lot  of clients starting to stake CRV via crvCVX on Convex Finance. Staking rewards in CRV & CVX.  Is there a specific best way to track / import these staking rewards? Or is it completely manual?  Thanks!

Hi Andreas,

New user here, and using Cointracking for a couple months now. Still working to sync up my Balance by Exchange numbers with my Live Balances (which are more or less accurate, more on this below), and experiencing frustration. There are massive negative coin numbers on all of my exchanges (Binance, Kraken, Celcius), and inaccurate when they are smaller discrepancies.

Following a support ticket reply, I have followed the FAQ to validate my account. All of my APIs are functioning properly as far as I can tell. I tracked down deposits and withdrawals that were not provided by APIs (I manually entered a missing deposit, and it is not reflected on my balances page). I also tried the Binance v2 beta csv (which came back with error: no timestamps).

I am trading with bitsgap bots, which makes my number of trades quite high, but even so I cannot seem to locate the discrepancies showing up in my balance pages.

Perhaps this is a very common issue with Cointracking, and I have much to learn on this platform.

Grateful for any assistance or insight. Thank you.

One other issue I've noticed is that on my Live Balances page, SHIBA INU (SHIB) shows up as HIB on cointracking. It has the correct number of coins, but zero USD value. I wonder if this is a typo mistake?

@stalbeaux
In this case transactions are missing and some APIs have restrictions like Binance or KuCoin. Kraken should be fine. We suggest here to bulk delete all Kraken transactions and re-import again via API.
If some transactions are missing please use the instructions on import pages and the FAQ. You have to search for transactions which are not imported vs. you have in your accounts and add those coin by coin.

Regarding BOTs we haven an FAQ here: "Handling of Bot Trades"https://cointracking.freshdesk.com/a/solutions/articles/29000039417?lang=en

Regarding the SHIB please send us a ticket with the exchange where this appears and if it is only live balance or even the imported ticker as well. Thank you in advance.

Why do you miscalculate and do not subtract the commissions from my balance?
And in tax report it does not deduct commissions for fifo spain either.

Please make sure all your transactions are added correctly: How to validate my account? (https://cointracking.freshdesk.com/a/solutions/articles/29000035339?lang=en)
And handling of fees is described here: How fees are handled within CoinTracking (https://cointracking.freshdesk.com/a/solutions/articles/29000039588?lang=en)

Hello,

How do I have to add yield farming fees, such as the contract approval fee, the deposit fee and the liquidity fee when I create a new transaction?.

And, how can I add the trade transacction itself when I have 3 tokens involved, the two original tokens and the liquidity token?

For example, how do I enter manually these transacctions:

Pool with DOT and BNB

Fee: Approved DOT For Trade
Fee: Add Liquidity Token
Trade: Sell DOT and BNB and Buy DOT-BNB-LP
Fee: Approved DOT-BNB-LP For Trade
Fee: Deposit DOT-BNB-LP (bond to the pool fee)
(for the rewards I assume I must use the Staking transaction type, no problem there)
Fee: Withdrawal of the pool (unbound)
Fee: Remove Liquidity Token
Trade: Sell DOT-BNB-LP and Buy DOT and BNB

Thanks in advance

Complicated NFT swap issue:
With a few projects now allowing for swapping out and changing parts of the individual NFT image its getting more and more difficult to account for them. How would you suggest I deal with the following scenario?
Purchase original NFT (a)
Purchase a background image NFT (b)
Swap a background out from NFT (a) for NFT (b).

Im now left with a new NFT(c) being the original background image that came with NFT(a) and NFT(b) is now attached to NFT(a) as a replacement background possibly increasing the value of NFT(a) in the process.

I presume best to ignore the swap all together?

Things are getting harder and harder to deal with in the NFT space as NFT's become more complex

Hard to follow what happened here. Where is your NFT (c) trade if you end up this this?
Swaps are trades. And all those transactions should be added as trade if you sell one and buy another coin or NFT.
If you do not want to produce gains or restart of holding period you could use "swap" as trade group within those trades if allowed in your country.
May be somebody else have experience here.

Hi guys,

I wondering if the following is currently possible. I explored all the different options and filters and I couldn't find it:

I organize all my records in two possible trade-groups: exchanges and wallets. I would like to see the evolution of my balance in exchanges (using the trade-group "exchanges") over time, ideally in a graph. Is there a way to see a graph of the balance similar to what we see in the Dashboard for "Balance by Day" but filtered by a specific trade-group?
