A Star topology offers a more direct route so that would be my first choice pending testing. Why not spend a little extra for two Pi units for less chance on a single failure causing problems? (both the primary usb hub and the pi)

I'm using 7 port Rosewill hubs which have 5 Powered ports and 2 unpowered which, I believe, have their own separate controller for the purpose of daisy chaining, or so I thought. Are all 7 of the Dlink ports in Alexrossi's diagram powered? Sam

Is there any reason to believe that the corresponding power supply for the d-link DUB-H7 isn't adequate to supply full power for 7 connected erupters? All ports are powered, of course, but can the power supply support that much simultaneous electrical draw?

I've written a brief article that describes how to get up and mining with the USB Erupter under OS X using either bfgminer or cgminer. Hope it helps!

Where do you get those little heat sinks?
Now that I'm ready to get some I can't find a link to order them from. Thanks, Sam

I have been running cgminer version 3.3.0 on a raspberry pi/D-link 7port HUB with a single usb erupter for days without any problems.
However, when I put more than one usb erupter into the hub I can barely get one or two shares before all the leds light up on all erupters and they stop hashing.
Wondering if anyone else has seen this problem and if it might be due to version 3.3.0, since there are posts in this thread of folks running multiple usb erupters with a raspberry pi. Thanks.

It can be done, here is another screenshot for you;- That's 1 x BFL Jalapeño (VERY old version) running alongside 9 Block Eruptors. I have heard that there has been stability problems with the AMU driver (even the cgminer authors say that there might be) but I have always been curious as to why MinePeon does not appear to be affected. Is there any chance I could convince you to download MinePeon and see if it makes a difference? Neil

Perhaps something Arch Linux has over Raspbian? I had to roll back to cgminer 3.1.1 to get multiple eruptors playing nice. fwiw - I plan on trying MinePeon asap - nice work.

I even tried cgminer-3.2.1 as shown in screen shot of earlier post by whonesta, but I get same issue... 2-3 shares accepted, all leds light, wait 60 secs and then attempting restart... and cycle continues. I am willing to give minepeon a try, can you please point me to download and build instructions. Thanks. Just got 5 erupters from group buy and would really like to get them all working together on the R PI.

Thanks for such a good thread and informative posts!
I'm getting the gear together while waiting for 10 Erupters to arrive, and have a very noob question. I've looked around but can't find an answer.
I'm not sure how the miners work so don't know whether there is any advantage of using USB3.0 vs UCB2.0 hubs. (for running 10 Erupters of a USB hub or two). I'm guessing no, but to be sure...
