And thanks for the certification idea. Now that tampering seems possible, this is added value!

I am in the process of creating my own certificate for the silver 1 BTC coin I received today Cheesy

Yes, shipping is same price to anywhere we can send to including the Netherlands.

We still have stock, yes.

I wanted to thank you guys for the great idea of certificating casacius coins. When I received my 1BTC silver coin from a group buy, I created a certificate so it fits nice with the certificates I received from you Smiley

before anyone asks: we are not going to resell the new 0.5 and 0.1 BTC silver rounds because of ridiculously high pricing.

see my post in casascius' thread for more info

so who's going to make a cool low-denomination physical bitcoin? Any ideas for this?

agreed: the price is ridiculous... I was waiting for those sweet coins, but I don't want to pay 0.50 BTC or something... I want to pay 0.35 bTC max.

I guess when they are offered on ebay, the price will drop as we saw before with the 1BTC silver coins. They are often sold for less than 200EUR on ebay (less than 2 BTC), sometimes even 1.5 BTC...

Well, it seems Mikes high-price release of silver coins is good advertisement for us:

orders for 0.5 BTC brass coins are rushing in at increased pace Wink.

Thanks for ordering guys, we'll package and send as soon as your money arrives.

To keep first post clean, I'm moving stuff about the recent auction from first post to here for reference:

Quote
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We had temporarily repurposed this thread to auction off 5 1 BTC Casascius coins (2013 series 2). That auction has ended, I'm leaving the stuff here for a while for reference.

(we still have 0.5 BTC coins in stock you can order for BTC 0.89 using the normal process (no auction, details below the description of the auction)

Item Description

You are bidding on one (or more) of 5 2013 1 BTC Casascius Physical Bitcoin, including a coins capsule and matching proof-of-age certificate and worldwide shipping.

We have bought these coins from DeadTerra. Therefore we cannot make any claims regarding how they had been handled. We ourselves handled the coins very carefully. We have assessed the condition as "good" for each coin. Should you - against odds - not be satisfied with the condition of the coin, we can offer you your money back if you haven't removed the coin from the capsule and we receive it back in the same condition you received it in (please understand you will have to pay yourself for shipping to us in this case)

Auction Rules

  • Rules can change, we're making them up as we go along.
  • You can retract your bid at any time unless you have payed.
  • Only bid if you want to buy
  • Bids and payment are in BTC
  • Place your bids by posting to this thread.
  • You can place multible bids in one go if you want to bid on more than 1 coin. Please indicate the number of coins and amount you want to bid for each (for example: "I bid BTC 1.59 each for 2 coins" or "I bid BTC 2.00 for one coin and BTC 1.5 for another one)
  • The 5 highest bids at the time the auction ends win the auction
  • older orders win over newer ones with the same value
  • The auction ends when we announce it in this thread. We will probably do so when: "date is Wednesday July 31st, 8pm GMT AND there has been no new bid replacing one of the highest 5 bids for 1 hour." EDIT: per post #132 I changed this from 1 hour to 10 minutes
  • no bitching about the rules, we make the rules and noone is forced into anything until he pays
  • After the auction ends, we will ask winning bidders to pay by giving them an individual payment address. Failing to pay within 48 hours cancels the respective bid. Payment converts the bid into an order and finalizes it order.
  • If bids are being cancelled by failure to pay after the auction has ended, the auction restarts (we'll work out the details when time comes)

Shipping

Unless otherwise stated above, the same shipping and handling rules apply as for the 1/2 BTC coins we sell. Read in second part of this post (below).

natürlich, zumindest unter der Voraussetzung, daß einer von uns kommt. Sag vorher bescheid wieviele wir mitbringen sollen. Preis ist dann etwas (nicht viel) billiger, da wir shipping sparen.

hey guys,

we've made a service that allows anyone to generate a proof-of-age certificate just like the one offered here with our coins for their own coins.

Just snap 2 shots (front and back) of a coin, upload them and then download the certificate (or have it printed and mailed to you by us).

here's the thread: [SERVICE] Roll your own Casascius Proof-of-Age Certificate

site is: http://certificates.0x0000.de

tell us what you think.

We just decided to not ship to the United States any more (too many shipments get lost and this introduces high cost, delays and rightfully disappointed customers, despite insurance and refund)

We'll still happily ship to all other countries.

We stop sales temporarily, because:

noone died, someone from next building slightly injured, afaik.

We still have coins at another location, but it will take us a while because other things obviously have priority.

Oh no that's a shame.

I hope you haven't lost much and can get it back from insurance.

Good luck
