Damn. I am using KIS but I am afraid that I could be hacked someday. I already protected my gmail/chrome account with 2FA, but I am afraid that my phone could be hacked. Damn. I'm storing coins in blockchain wallet, in my PC, but my priv key in an usb, backup, write in my notebook. But with your loss, I think I should enhance my security like buy Malwarebytes antimalware. Sorry for your loss. You stored your private keys in an usb, it meant that you were typing your private keys on your PC then transferred it to usb. Even if you deleted your private keys from your PC, but isn't the deleted file still can be found on PC, so if the hacker hacked your PC, the hacker still be able to retrieve your deleted private keys from your PC.

This is very sad man. You need to watch better out the next time. Maybe you can contact the police about this and that they would investigate for you.
You need to store your wallet in a secured place with 10 passwords required to enter in and have access to your wallet. So can a hacker never break in if you have a lot of coins.

I agree that you must store you wallet in a better place next time and don't use public wifi's they are mostly easily hacked and broken in. Use 3g/4g next time from your provider this is 100 times better. Maybe contacting the police is also a good idea maybe they can do something to recover it who knows ?.

i guess this is a lesson to anyone viewing this thread.. only keep your keys encrypted and use 2fa..
had this guy done these things, even if someone stole his phone or identity they would not be able to move his coins.

Ahh, really really sorry for your lost Damn previously i lost like $500 and i am down and depress for several days, i can't imagine how hard you would go thru.. Hope you could be okay
And one question i am curious here,
So basically this is how it happens: OP connected to a Wifi WiFi owner or Wifi owner (Injected with Script by others) gone through the files in the Mobile of OP Then steal the data?
How does it work actually? When you connect, it actually transfer all your available files into their side? And how the hacker know that it is for the Cryptos
Mygod, this world is too danger, dangerous than ever

sorry for your lost but there is no way you can get back those funds in your account. We need to set precautions at all time when accessing our bitcoin or ether wallet. I hope this serves a big lesson to you and to us coin holder that we must pay attention always that hackers are always there trying to steal information to us

Security first! Should be the watchword of every crypto investors! There are ways you can mitigate or even prevent theft and loss. One should invest in knowledge first especially about safety of your crypto portfolio before diving to the world of crypto currency. I will advice that you put a bounty on the thief! He will be caught if you work at get the hacker.

Failure to return the coins will brings calamity into your life. That's what they all say isn't it when bandits run away with funds, is that why you also have a selfmoderating thread? Why you act like a complete noob and do what you claim to have done, you should know better and that's why is sounds fishy - get rich quick scheme - for yourself?

My heart skipped a bit only reading this. Security. Must. Be. Taken. Seriously. I usually say the funds you lost should be seen as "payment" to learn that lesson but in this case, with such funds, it's plain sad.

Did you surf a phishing site? I mean you accessed a fake myetherwallet.com and input the private key? It is possible to be hacked like this way.

Sorry for ur lose bro.although I sympathy with u I also would like to point out u where also careless. U never actually told us which wallets u stored those coins in.were they in an excange, web, offline wallet.?did u have 2 factor authentication through sms or Google authenticator enabled, did u check ur wifi history at the time the coins were transferred from ur wallet.we have to know these things to try figure out what happen.even though it wont bring ur coins back but it will serve as an awareness or case study so some of us can learn from ur mistake and be more careful in the future
I am sure you understand he is going through a lot right now . he will come up for help once he gets his money back.. Sorry to hear for the loss for him.

This is too much. We must learn from our mistakes. Avoid using any Wi-Fi beyond your control for anything can happen.
