It will replace fiat currency eventually but I believe it will take time.  Government are now taking interest with blockchain technology but it does not mean they will adopt Bitcoin.  Government wants privacy and centralization.  They demand the public of transparency but they refuse to do the same to them.  And digital currency is one of the best way of monitoring their citizen transactions since with blockchain, all the transaction will be visible.

maybe yes and maybe no!
but I think bitcoin will NOT
fiat or local currencies is the one who used in certain country and it is use to audit and see how the growth of a certain country have
economy is which money will be used and to buy local to local country and local people to be paid

so I think it will not replace but instead be alternative way of money
Well I think its possible because as there was no concept of digit currency before so simple like that there is a possibility that bitcoin can replace any fiat currency because bitcoin has a strong hold in market and day by day it’s going to high and the important thing is people trust in it and day by day the new comer are joining bitcoins demand of bitcoin is going high.

Maybe, not impossible but will take a lot of time i guess, there are a lot of people who has less knowledge in technologies, once their generations passed, blockchain tech will soon be known by the world and that time fiat may be out-valued by cryptos.

Yes i am agree with you because all small transaction is run by fiat money which is not possible by digital currency. because there is thousand currency in the market. no body know that which digital currency is best. some people really does not like crypto currency and they will not use it any cost, so it can not take a place of fiat currency with 100% and never.

Maybe, this not impossible but it will take a lot of time i guess, and there`s a lot of people who has less knowledge in technologies, there are many transaction already that doesn't need cash or fiat especially in other cities. this only proves that there are bigger chances of having a cashless society where digital currency rules.

I dont think digital currency can replace fiat, the two currencies does coexist and needed by the industry. For now there are limited transaction that accepts bitcoin and still uses fiat for payment but in time wide acceptance of bitcoin in different industry will happen and the industry will adjust but it will take time.

I know it may not be possible right now, but do you think fiat will be gone in the future?
No. I highly doubt that digital currency will replace fiat or regular currency in the future for it's been used through the years that have passed by different countries. Even if the world will cope up with the advancement of technology, it would be still impossible since there are governments that are not supporting digital currency. And as long as there are people or countries that are making use of fiat, it won't be obsoleted.

I do not think it's possible because under any circumstances fiat money will still be in need, judging by the circumstances of the user it still needs, especially when making small payments

yes I believe because of the increasingly widespread use of digital currency today, and began the lack of public trust against fiat cuurency. I am sure in the future digital cuurency will be used for daily transactions

It could be replaced as digital currencies become more and more developed and many businesses and malls substitute FIAT with digital cities as a form of payment.

No this can’t be happened I know digital currency is also better but it cannot replace fiat money because if we buy things on fiat money it didn’t take time and suddenly in that time you will get that thing while digital currency will take some time because it will online and we know all about inline shopping and there is also many reasons also.

Yes!

Governments will issue cryptocurrencies and use blockchains that will allow them unfettered access to how we buy goods and services, when, where, from whom etc. That way they can tax and steal our money through bail-ins, inflation etc. Same applies to pensions, life insurance etc.

Call these Fiat cryptos.

Russia has published plans for crypto-roubles. Mark Carney (Bank of England) has made statements suggesting this is being considered in UK.

I believe Fiat cryptos and cash will co-exist for a transition period, while cash will be gradually extinguished.

However, anyone with any sense will protect themselves with non-Fiat cryptos (call them Porsche cryptos?), like Bitcoin. Porsche cryptos can run in parallel with Fiat cryptos, beyond government reach.

The value of this approach can be seen in Zimbabwe and Venezuaela, where citizens are trying to survive government sponsored financial chaos and hyperinflation.

Who knows, in future we might replace "cash-in-hand" with "altcoin-in-smartphone"

I don't. I only think that it will be more dominant than fiat or regular currency in the future if it is already legal to most of the countries due to its advantages. But still, regular currency will exist and will be used by people since they are using already through decades. So that's impossible in my opinion for fiat to be obsoleted by digital currency such as Bitcoin.

I strongly believe that the digital currency can and with take over the place of fiat. We are now in the new age and it's the way of the future where we are already threading. Just like you mentioned, it is with time and it is creeping in gradually. Some countries are already accepting it while others are fighting against it; fighting against technology. The best in which my country is adopting is to set up a committee to investigate into Cryptocurrency and see  how the government can benefit from it and make the best out of it.

Yeah it is not possible right now but in the near future it is possible that digital currency or crypto currency will over or replace fiat. Now that digital currency are beginning to gain a good reputation and starting to use trust by the sonsumers. So it is not impossible for it to replace the fiat. But i dont think fiat will not going to exist anymore. Well more people is already uses crypto currency or digital currency now.

I think that fiat will be gone in the future but it doesn't mean that bitcoin will be the one to replace it. Are you a fan of conspiracies? If you are then for sure you know what's the world government is planning to do.

One religion, one government and one world currency. But with the one world currency, I don't know if bitcoin is the one that will be using by everybody. There might be some sort of digital currency but I'm guessing yet doubting it that it will b bitcoin

I think bitcoin will not replace fiat because fiat is our foundation of money, and if bitcoin will be more popular than fiat then it is good, and I'm sure it will happen. But I don't think it will be gome completely because it is still important for those who doesn't have access in internet.

It's quite impossible that btc will replace dollar or any fiats for now,it will only be wudely used through internet for easily transactions but in most common transactions fiat as well as bank is still needed.

To be honest, there are a lot of factors that will affect such a change. The change will be slow and it will be momentous. Basically, if such a phenomenon is to happen, the entire core of economics will be wrenched out and remoulded. Bitcoin’s decentralised platform is something that is definitely new to fiat. This is an advantage and something that citizens would strive for, but such a platform brings with it difficulties. Long confirmation times and higher transaction fees are the result of such a platform. This can be seen in the example of Bitcoin. Moreover, the price of Bitcoin is quite volatile. This is, again, another disadvantage. So at the moment, I don’t believe that Bitcoin can replace fiat.
