no, I don't believe that bitcoin can replace fiat.
bitcoin still need fiat, can't standalone. bitcoin and fiat need each other to improve the economy of a country
in the bitcoin world itself the dependence on fiat is still very large
for example: some traders exchange it to fiat, the production of hardware for bitcoin mining still depends on fiat, electricity and internet still using fiat. therefore, impossible fiat will disappear as long as we still use it

Fiat will never lose its weight. Fiat has a nice charming and everybody loves cash in their pocket.
But we don't like coins and too much money in our pocket so we have digital coins for both Smiley

You are right the bitcoin is giving the chance and his helping the people at the same time I hope the value and the bitcoin will increase more I hope the bitcoin will give all the people the chance and the fiat is not being use by the people now at the same time I hope the bitcoin will help the people to buy all the things they want and it will increase the value of the bitcoin I can see the bitcoin is now being use all around the world.

I do not think fiat currencies will be gone in the future. In order for us to use digital currencies, we need an internet connection. Not all of us have an internet connection. See? That is the limitation. If someday fiat currencies will really be gone, not all people will surely adopt in the world where only digital currency is used.

yeah, kinda not possible for right now. but in the future when everyone start to accept digital currencies and the regulation is crystal clear. then maybe digital currency will replace fiat.  Smiley
Everyone almost is getting obsessed with crypto currencies due to ease and comfort it is providing to them, not now but soon it is going to replace other regular currencies and paper money in the future, it is favored by people for investment due to reasons that it is quick and gives a high profit. It will not stop its journey here and will achieve much more

No, even in the future I won't beleive that it will.someday happen knowing that fiat or regular currencies are supported by different governments and countries which is unlike Bigcoin that is decentralized. It might be more oftenly used in the future since we are now on digital age, but I highly doubt that cash will be no.longer used.

I do not think replacing fiat money by digital cryptocurrency is possible. Digital crytocurrencies from the word itself, digital;  it is used or characterized by means of computer and technology. Imagine if the fiat money was gone and the approved currency by the government was bitcoin, what will happen to people who does not rely on technology, or they do not have it. Even if they have it,they need to have an internet connection.  Keep in mind that not all places in the world are reachable by internet like farmland or other remote areas, they are not able to spend because they can not use digital cryptocurrencies.

It is possible in the future but now this thinking is so early. Digitalization should spread all over the world to use digital currency technology. After  that I think every country will have own digital currency.

In my opinion bitcoin can't replace fiat, though bitcoin nowadays became more  popular and trendy but people get used in using fiat currency, even though we have bitcoin in our wallet alot of people want physical money that can be hold and seen rather than an adress seen through a phone application or in a bitcoin wallet.Fiat will always be there especially to those countries that bitcoin is unknown to the society.

i think it will...
but not yet in the near future since there are only few people in the world population that is aware and accepts cryptocurrencies.
it will still take a long time for people to fully accept it as a currency and not as an asset.

Fiat is a new coin. I do not know. but present. It is not possible to replace bitcoin with another coin, though the bitcoin technology is outdated. I hope to have a coin instead. but not now

I'm not sure, the state will always use fiat because with fiat then it can fully control, if using cryptocurrency will make the transaction very unhealthy.

Time will  only tell but as of right now, it will not replace fiat currency. You would need a mass wide adoption of people who understand what a blockchain is and to be extra careful not to mess up a transaction. This could take years before it would be a contender to replace fiat.

I think that op didn`t mean this to happen right now, cashless society is a topic for years and in some countries there will be no cash in next 5-10 years. I think next logic step is removing fiat and establishing crypto currencies. Japan is the first country that legalized bitcoin I think they will be the first in replacing their yen with some digital currency, maybe bitcoin or maybe they will make their own alt-coin which is more possible I think, after all they are Japanese and they have technology and infrastructure to do many things there.

Yes I am sure that someday cryptocurrency will replace fiat money, various discourses and innovations have been done by many people to immediately replace fiat money with a better system.

The biggest problem is the creator's anonymity. Any architectural plan has a fulcrum and only the author knows it. I think that the crypto-currencies will become densely used, but they will hardly be able to replace the commodity exchange. In the world there are enough countries with an undeveloped system of mutual settlements in the form of crypto-deniers. The global access to the world market can be improved only due to simplified storage systems and data transmission speed. The supporters of the conspiracy theory certainly rejoice, the chips implanted in the body are not so far.

As soon as large software corporations announce that the solution is found in the form of chips, we can assume that the global system of withdrawing cash and gold has reached its peak.

Of course, cryptocurrency will replace fiat in the next 10 years,  we all must remember that Internet replaces all the all the other database services, what I mean, is that all of us we will see the change because we are the change.  The Internet is what it is because all users allow it.
We are involved in the biggest and most important Internet revolution,  the authentic Internet value, we are making that the real demand of the most people will make real things happen.  We are the choice, we are the voice and we are the action bottom.

-IMHO- what's the easiest to pay today online?

Bank transfer? Slow or pricey, cumbersome. VISA? pricey, cumbersome, risky.

PAYPAL. There, you have a middleman who makes things safe for you (for a fee of course), that can already be fed from your bank account or your VISA, can be easily updated to support any crypto.

This is why it doesn't matter (except for those who don't wanna declare their earnings) how long it takes for a transfer to be processed.
Would you really sell something through ebay to a guy paying in Bitcoins? You have zero safety, that's what Paypal is for.
If you hide your money, then yes transfer times & costs matter. But if you prefer your money to have your name on it, you want insurance & safety, you won't pay directly in BTC.

As for buying your daily bread, here too there are middlemen which you credit in larger chunks, who will allow you to pay little things instantly.
I think of these middlemen as hardware drivers, it doesn't really matter which source they feed from, and it can be anything.

I agree that PayPal is nice and easy. I like it and use it often. But here where I am, bank transfer, credit card and Mobil pay is neither slow, pricy, nor cumbersome. All the opposite in fact.
Bitcoin technology has no chance to replace the digital delivering method of paper money, namely credit card and mobile pay, at least here in the Nordic countries. It is too slow and to expensive (fee). If you want to rival the speed and ease of these two payment methods, the crypto technology needs entirely new thinking. Traditional block chain technology is fully unsuited for minor daily business.

Should I wait in a shop, to buy two cokes via bitcoin, for some miner to include my transaction, and pay double because of fee…. Narr I don’t think so. I’ll sweep it in 1.sec via wireless credit card or mobile pay.

60% of all money transactions in Denmark in 2015 were via credit card or mobile pay.

I don't think it digital currencies will replace fiat but I know it will dominate and it will be widely used specially bitcoin, we all use technology to make our live easy and using blockchain as a tool to make transaction is a big help for us in sending money.

I believe that cryptocurrencies will replace fiat currencies in the near future, when everyone can access the internet and uses digital currencies in their daily routines. That is not impossible to happen because today, bitcoin is slowly getting popular in the world and we, users just need to continue to encourage and convince others to use and invest in bitcoin. Also, my point is that fiat wil be replaced by cryptocurrencies but it will not be completely gone because this is one of the identities in each country.
