I know it may not be possible right now, but do you think fiat will be gone in the future?
I think digital currencies will be use in the future but will not totally replace fiat money. It is because fiat money is still needed to be used by those people who dont have any idea about bitcoin especially the poor people. In order to have balance, fiat money should still move around the world.

We had a similar question posed at dinner this evening with business colleagues. There is definitely a possibility in my opinion however one question was the connectivity issue.. Time will eventually conquer this but what about people who can jam/restrict the connectivity?

There are chances that digital currency will replace by fiat but definitely not in all areas of the world. There are some areas that do not have the latest technology.

Well probably if digital currencies make it offline. Probably that would be the best thing to happen. If they put bitcoin offline many people will adore it and will use it. Because fiat currencies are offline that is why it is the traditional way.
I guess if a currency is set to use offline it is a big impact to whether it will be used or may amused people to use it. But i believe that if ever digital currencies will replace fiat it will be a long process, and it will not be easy for all the people. Some may adjust, but many will be taking a lot of time to be used to it. Ofcourse techies, or technology users will be at ease wheb using bitcoin, but how about the people who doesn't grow up with internet or doesn't know internet.

No.It will not. There are still people of older age and illiterate who don't find comfort in using digital transactions. Most of illiterate people don't even own a credit card or debit card. They just believe the paper money as the true currency. Also, internet is not widely available all over the world.Even in most developed countries like US,fiat currency still exists. So,it may not replace fiat currencies.

I agree that bitcoin has more benefits not just with other computerized currencies, because it's been having much more stability from previous past months. The volatility state was surpassed and even if it goes down until $2000, I guess it's not that bad for the economy of digital currency due to more opportunities may risen up and also more chances of other crypto's to increase further. For me no idea for replacing fiat currency with digital, because people around the world is not yet been educated for how bitcoin really works for each and everybody's lives. It's not good to force the fiat economy to adopt the system, because it may bring bad effects which could result as economy collapse.

nope, simply because bitcoin is just a currency created by an individual rather than a state or institution. It is not being regulated and people cannot use it as a measuring stick for value of goods since it is too volatile, fiat on the other hand is the symbol of a state being the legal tender of a country. I dont think digital currencies will ever replace fiat.

Sooner or later, digital currency will replace fiat. Visa and Mastercard already put their effort in researching blockchain technology, so I think it should be available in next 5 years.

We have already seen the development of the electronic payments systems that make fiat money partially digital.
Speaking about concurrency, it may happen in future but not so soon as a lot of people are not aware even of what cryptocurrencies are thinking that bitcoin is something consisting of the air. Moreover, not all countries of the globe are developed enough to shift from fiat to digital money.

Cash will always have a place as it works in an offline world, something a digital currency can never replace. It's likely however that digital currencies will take over many of the roles we currently have for fiat where it makes sense to do so.

Fiat money for the moment and the future will not disappear, although now the digital currency has started to attack with massive. Fiat will still be used by people for transactions that can not be reached with digital currency.

No.

I don't believe it. Even this is not possible because, Fiat is need at grass root level as its a mode of exchange for goods at domestic level. Altcoins are great option for using them as a mode of exchange but for this both of users must have to be aware about cryptocurrencies. According to current speed of awareness of altcoins, it will really not possible. And if still possible there will be a so many troubles to implement it.

Judging by what has already happened to transaction fees, it seems like fiat money will disappear tangibly, but will affect cryptocurrencies in terms of fees. So the only main change will be the blockchain base.
Since right now fiat money exists with BTC becoming a competitor to him, the transactions fees are small. But after fiat disappears a classic "monopoly" scheme will come with fees rising.

I strongly hope that the cryptocurrency will replace fiat. But such scenario is unlikely since the states will not allow this. Something very large must happen to make the fiat disappear.

For now digital currencies can't replace fiat, because most people around the world use fiat currencies a lot more than using crypto currencies. But with time more people will start to use crypto especially if governments started to support this currencies.

I think cryptocurrency cannot replace fiat money specially if it's decentralized because the bank can't get a hold on it.

As long as fiat is backed by the government digital currencies will remain in the back ground of fiat and I dont think it would be a good idea for digital currencies to be replace fiat and government to have control over digital currencies. Imagine government implementing full regulations on  digital currencies. It beats the purpose of being anonymous.
