I think you may have misread the 2.0 BTC as 0.2 BTC.  On the pay page it says

"Enter Your Bid Amout:
(Min-0.1 BTC, Max-2.0 BTC)"

Hahah its okay, theres always the next round in 13 minutes, (: thats the good thing about this one, every hour you have a new chance AND you dont' have to wait for the operator or for the block chain to update.

1. I will consider making Mountain 6, 12 or 24 hours, but if I do, I will bump the minimum back up to 3 if that is the case. Small betters can stick to Hill
Let me know what you guys think would be appropriate haha

2. I didn't create a new thread for Mountain just because so many people have Doubler games now I feel that I would be spamming. Since the games are so similar, I figured if anyone has problems with one, they could easily find me here to tell me about it rather than mucking about in 2 different threads.

This hasn't caught on nearly as much as I thought it would. It's the perfect system!
I'll continue to support it. Cheesy

Maybe the rounds should be lengthened to get more people playing

This seems like a good idea. It's sad to see these polished solutions get beaten by dime-a-dozen  spreadsheets that are spamming up this forum. I almost feel like those should be restricted.

Seriously, I don't see how those spreadsheet ones are so popular. You have to hope the guy running them isn't a scammer. Here, mine is all automated, and you don't have to wait for me to send you payment.

I will extend King of the Mountain and make a new topic for it later tonight. Maybe that will entice people.

Yup i thought this one would be more popular too  Huh. But what i really don't like about these automated games is that you have to use mybitcoin to send payments, it really slows you up. I know why its necessary but i rather see something like betcoin.eu, just sent your amount to an address and it automatically shows up.

Well, at spreadsheet ones you have a human operator, have a nice experience, probably get a refund if you screwed up. In automated ones it's still possible that the guy running them is a scammer, though the risk is lower. Or it can be hacked. Or whatever.

I think I'll play yours though Wink

True, i like the personal touch with the spreadsheats too Smiley.

Well I personally got scammed out of over 16 bitcoins on one of the first spreadsheet games when the guy disappeared with everyone's money.
With mine, if I get hit by a bus, the game still goes on and you get your money.

Updated countdown timer, hopefully will work around midnight lol

I'm also extending King of the Mountain to work 24 hour rounds, starting and ending every midnight EDT.

King of the Mountain is now up to a 1.5x multiplier

question:  Although the system says game has been stopped 1 minute prior to ending, it appears that bids are still entered during that minute. I watched 2 bids register over the course of that minute.  Is this correct?  Or was it just delayed registry of entries before that minute mark?

Come on people, let's keep this moving. We don't want another dead round!

Also, I think we should return to the older "fixed-value" system, and possibly drop the multiplier to 1.9x in order to prevent "zeroing" of the pot, which people seem to use to avoid taking a loss on their investment. It makes pot distribution at the end frequently 0, which quite frankly, kills the whole round.

EDIT: There seems to be something up with the pool. This one person keeps sniping at impossibly early times, and this time, they got a bet in before the round even began. The round always begins 16 seconds in, and yet this person got something in at 14. I'm inclined to call foul on this.

We need a secondary captcha. After sending your payment, you must solve a captcha that is the same to everyone on the site.

The 15 second buffer time was set up to prevent anyone from placing a bid while the end-game script was running. It seems that people are hovering on the MyBitcoin page (which I have no control over) until 5-10 seconds after the game starts and throw in a bet early, at the risk that they could lose their bet while the end-game is processing... I don't really have a way to prevent people from doing this, and they do so at the risk of losing their money.

I feel that a second captcha would discourage a lot of people because it's an extra step. Most people aren't playing just because they have to pay through MyBitcoin and for some reason that makes them feel like it's too much work  Roll Eyes

For long term non-sniping games, I recommend King of the Mountain, otherwise, King of the Hill is good for people who don't mind fast-paced sniping rounds.

I offer both in the hopes that I have something for everybody.
