No, it will not destroy the industry totally, there will always people who like old cars and want to stick that way, same with how there are still a lot of olden day cars around on the streets.

It could possibly take over a huge market share in the automobile industry but that wont be for a decade or two

History shows that new tech will replace old ones. I don't think old cars will disappear totally but it will be like antique (In the future it will look like the cowboy movie as we see today) LOL

Nope, at least not until governments in third world countries introduce the electric car to their citizens. Also, petrol producing nations like Venezuela would likely keep on using petrol cars.

We all know that the main disadvantage with the electric car lies in the expenses. The capital cost and maintenance for electric cars are much higher when compared to diesel or petrol cars of similar configuration. Another major issue is the battery replacement, which will cost you a fortune every 3-4 years.
Did you know that the advantages of electric vehicles and cars are not, Electric cars are environmentally friendly vehicles and save fuel consumption but it has a weakness that it runs slower than other cars and is limited If you are a car rider you can pour gasoline anywhere but electricity is not always available

As soon as such cars like Tesla will be as cheap as normal petrol cars, I think yes. If it's more economical, people will switch to electronic cars. But I don't think that it will destroy petrol cars completely. I personally like petrol cars and old muscle cars.

I think thats not possible to happen because one thing different between electric car and petrol car i the speed, even though you save a lot of energy in electric car still you can't achieved the speed of a petrol car.

Electricity is not very easy to produce. Only developed countries can afford electric car, but for developing and poor countries, they have to rely on petrol car.

I think that in twenty years from now the transportation will look very different. The petrol car will be only in the museum, and new combustible will be. The electric cars will be more cheap, so the ordinary people would afort them.
