Not surprisingly, Bitkoin.Africa is launched by a team of Nigerian developers. In my opinion, Nigeria is one of the progressive countries of this region on an equal footing with the UAE and Southern Africa.

Wow! That's interesting stuff - local developers are a great asset to have. thank you for finding and sharing

The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

Bitcoin could lead to a new economic revolution in Africa, because there are a lot of reasons people use btc instead of there national currencies.
one of the best example is driven by Zimbabwe https://news.bitcoin.com/after-mugabe-zimbabwe-pushes-bitcoin-to-17875/
where each btc is traded more than 60% in the rest of the world. Maybe next satoshi will be a citizen from an african country Smiley

Saw a really good video on YouTube about this. Bitcoin has not only help individuals free themselves from government controls, but also the governments to free themselves from unfair economic sanction which have left Africa in a disrupted state. Bitcoin is the revolution we have been waiting for.

Did you see the 'time traveler' post?  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2482799.40  Bitcoin takes off in Africa which helps lead to economy collapse.
Good for them though.  Those Zimbabwe dollars are just not the best store of value and who knows maybe we will make Africa rich.  They could use that.

Zimbabwe is one of the countries that using bitcoin more often that their national currency because of the more potential of bitcoin rather than their sinking currency. If bitcoin will be 100% implemented in Zimbabwe, i think that their country can be saved by just working and saving bitcoin.

Bitcoin is now very popular in Egypt. I have several Egyptian friends. They often discuss bitcoins and other encrypted currencies together. They even organized a training of bitcoin knowledge in a middle school.

Its good to see african people getting awareness about bitcoin. Its such a big continent having many countries. Its already late to enter bitcoin world. But nigerians are world famous for their scams.Hope that this would be a legit one.

Today, nigeria is said to have the largest number of bitcoin trades in whole africa.According to google trends, nigerians search the word "Bitcoin" largest number of times in the internet all over the world.

At first,Bitkoin.Africa allowed only nigerians to buy and sell bitcoins and now,it seems that they provide their service for users of all the african nations.

Hhahahahha, Really?

Zimbabwe, one of the poorest country in the world is using bitcoin more than it's own currency.
Let me ask you this:

1. With 16 million people, how do they manage to get their turn having a confirmed tx with 400k daily worldwide transactions?
2. How can the world poorest afford to pay what is now an average fee of 7$ to buy food?

The average worker (!!!!) , the guy that has a job (only 30% of the population does), is making only enough to pay a tx a day.

Get real and stop with the unicorns.

You are right. But BTC is one of working money saving methods for local community, isn't it? Zimbabwe currency is more volatile than bitcoin price, so the local middle class, if we can call it so, can hold money in cryptocurrencies.

Hi there 999sever666! Its good to hear that Africa is going with the trend of cryptocurrency. The good thing about the whole blockchain technology is its broad user spectrum. Anyone on the earth with a good internet connection could hop in and join in the cryptocurrency era. And that good thing with Africa is its power to invent new strategies to be famous in the world and that P2P digital assets exchange is one example of its. I hope that there are more country that will follow the initiative done by the said country.

Yes,i think bitcoins would be more helpful for the people of most african countries who suffer from poverty.Kenya is the first african country to adopt bitcoin mostly. At irst, bitpesa was started in 2013 which provided a platform between african countries and other world countries to make the payments in bitcoin which made the transaction fee to get reduced to almost 50%.Nigeria,ghana and south africa are the other nations which provide friendly environment to bitcoin.Bitkoin.Africa at first allowed nigerians to buy and sell bitcoins P2P but now,it allows almost all african nationalsto do so.

Rather than for poverty, long back itself people started to use bitcoin for the purpose of business transactions die to the low currency value of the countries around Africa. At some point even after restrictions from government, people continued to use the same, which shows the positive impact they have got over bitcoin.

Is Zimbabwe in Africa? Pardon my dumbness is geography... but anyway, the last time I checked it, Bitcoin in Zimbabwe was double the price of Bitcoin in US. I will not doubt if the entire Africa will move to bitcoin very soon and leave the FIAT behind.
