Charles Hoskinson says a lot is happening underneath the surface for Cardano (ADA)  

The effort to improve communication with the Cardano (ADA) community has revealed the scope of work and research that has gone into the platform. According to Charles Hoskinson, the CEO of IOHK, the fruits of almost five years of labor will see the light of day in the next few months, marking the beginning of the end of IOHK’s involvement with the project.

Are you talking about incentivized testnet Daedalus OR the main Daedalus? Moreover, are you talking about the "syncing" or "connecting to network" status? Because in the case of syncing, it doesn't take much time (depending on your internet speed). However, if you're stuck at network connection, then try restarting the application. If that doesn't help, just move to Yoroi till IOHK makes Daedalus rock-solid.

Daedalus is a desktop-based application, and it's completely open-source: https://github.com/input-output-hk/daedalus

It's created by IOHK, and they've no access to your private keys or master keys. All of the keys are completely stored offline in your own system storage.

It's a heavyweight wallet as it works as a full node (and needs to have 100% Cardano blockchain synced), if you require a light-weight wallet, go for Yoroi (mobile/browser).

Even myself thinking which the ADA price will surely increase more than 1$, so it is good to grab at the current situation of the ADA price. I am also very much interested in the ADA project, which we are seeing active developments and it will surely help this coin o increase it's the price.

No, all these epochs are on testnet. No mainnet staking before March/April.
