Besides having a bounty campaign and a signature campaign, what are other forms of promotion for an ICO that is essential to its success?

Of course a good underlying product is important and a white paper that explains it but as far as marketing vehicles is concerned - are there any other avenues worth exploring?

I think the most important ingredient of a successful ICO is the purpose of your product, If people find your coin useable they will buy it even on pre sale. If you are going to sell a coin with no use even if you have all of the bounty campaigns it will not sell.

For these to be implemented a coin dev should have a huge budget to cover up the cost for his project so that he can gain success and hiring a consultant cannot help him really since the main key to gather a huge success is to spread out the words about his project on different media sites and other things to target the market of crypto enthusiast.

Some of the things people behind an ICO can do is to publish their project on trusted media and news outlets related to financial assessment, investment analysis, and crypto-currency reviews, e.g. CoinDesk, CoinTelegraph, The Merkle, Bitcoinist, NewsBTC, etc. At present, this is one of the most often done as a way to promote an ICO project and as well as get attention and attract investors to it.

Aside from publishing the ICO at the above-mentioned outlets, another thing they can do is take part in Blockchain events or conferences. There they can promote their project and gain some angel investors, as most of the people who attend such gatherings can be considered as prospective shareowners or venture capitalists looking for a solid project they can invest in.

Because ICO is a new coin, so the developer and the marketing team need to make the popularity of the coin to escalate, other than signature campaign and bounty campaign. Social media campaign is a very important step, many people now cant far away from their social media and  it will be great if you can held a gathering to explained and convince the investors, but that will be the first step the next step is the hard one, which is to proved that the coin got value and be able to live for a long period

Traditional advertising such as google ads, youtube, .. always plays an important role in the success of any campaign. Not a signature campaign, not a translation campaign, it's a social media campaign that works best.

Yes social media is the most effective medium for disseminating products and advertisements. everyone is connected there from all over the world.

Dont give crazy discounts. Include a vesting period. Equal distribution model. Make your token a utility. Dont give crazy pre-sale deals to funding institutions. Dont have closed communication channels which are only accessible to some investors. No celebrity backings. The list goes on and on.

It is very difficult to make it happen , a lot of ico's are being a total failure after their launch, and most of them are not succesfull because of their low marketing and low budget advertising.
most of them does not even reach 3/10 of the total funds that they expected to get, or what they need to make a soft cap of the total token supply.
It is risky, you need a lot of money, and a very nice idea, and of course, a good support from the community, who is hard to get at the moment,

that's true but the market will sooner or later realise that huge marketing budget often means lousy quality, as in the case of ripple because you have behind those huge marketing budget ICOs you have huge companies with huge teams behind not small efficient teams, these huge companies then have lots of expensive consultants, and in the end cannot really think for themselves. Greed contract burocracy will in the end destroy their efficiency and systematically deliver terrible investment results

there is a reason that banks have so low profit from stocks and corporations

dont spent your money for huge company ICOs they wont be efficient and bring you success!!!

they just collect a lot of capital then collapse when the funds run out  distributed among those many contracted participants, and run away, with you ending up with a coin that is basically worthless after a systematic bankrupcy.

just look at ripple, after they have sold their premine ripple is will be abandoned and overshadowed by future marketing activity of competitors.

smaller teams that have long term goals are much better suited than huge company ICOs

I see that a lot of ico's are failing because they dont have their roadmap clear, most of them only want to create a fast rich scheme and then left all the users behind, and this happens in most cases, because i am constantly watching the altcoins announcements board.
But it is sad, because there were not too many ico's before, now they are a lot of new ico's everyday.
most of them doesnt even have a good writen whitepaper.

Yes,apart from the Bounty campaign and the signatory, you can also advertise it by organizing a seminar where you will discuss in details and make people understand much more about ICO, because not every body are opportune to make use of social medias.

Some points for a successful ICO:

Approach:
1) Find a problem
2) Solve the problem
3) Build a team
4) Preparation (legal, whitepaper)
5) ICO

Your Team need know-how in:
1) technical/technology
2) business (investors)
3) marketing (social media)

and most important: security is key !

Do you want to see a successful ICO? You will have to do everything STROM did, because they are doing one hell of a job. They have a good team, they have great advisors, Not such a crazy token discount, they actually have a utility token and the list goes on and on.

Some ICO are not Successful as what they are Expecting why?
Because some of it Doesn't reach Their Expected amount of The ICO.
There Are also reasons why some campaign managers got negative trust because of some signature campaign, They say that paydays will be paid for the exact date that they have given.
and some ICO's Got reported, Reason of Unsuccessful business

- signature campaign
- social media campaign (bounty campaign)
- underlying product
- informative white paper
Op has mentioned it.
Of course not all ICOs will success after launched as more than a half have failed.
I guess, devs team really add more attractions to investors. People have to trust you before they decide to give their money, because not scammers isn't enough, people need more assurances from devs team to make sure this project will be successful.

There are really some manager who got red trust on this one but for those who did scam only but regarding on their performance on grading then I don't see that they do deserve neg trust. ICO would really depend on how its being marketed. There are only two things to happen on which the project would get attention or not this is why marketing would really play a crucial role on projects success. When we do talk about bounty. All things are included on it,signature, social media, youtube, translations, article writing.

I know this is arbitrary to the quesstion at hand but most successful ICOs have moderately functional protocols or at least commitment to the protocol before hand (LINK for instance). The constant rise of vaporware ICOs is become a deterring view.

Now as for marketing or campaigning the best way to gain a successful ICO is to have avenues of instant communication between the developers and investors. If you have a good project that you are passionate of, share it with your investors. Sincerity really pays off more than marketing at some points. MBRS for instance.. MBRS did not even fill their minimum cap of 100k for their ICO but their dev said "we can give you your money back if youd like but if you believe in us we will do with what we can with your money and let you know everything along the way" - now they are well over 3m market cap.
Transparency and sincerity will win over flashy marketing in the long term.

An actual idea... Something new and useful that would actually be worth investing in.
ICOs are all the rage nowadays. A new 'coin/token' seems to launch on the daily. Majority of them are useless clones just looking to make quick money through an ICO.
You can advertise a coin all you like, pay for a signature campaign and the like, but at the end of the day what will actually make the ICO a success is if the coin actually has potential.
The people buying into the ICO want to see something worth investing their money in.
This. Be so different from the rest of the competition that potential investors won't consider it as being just another ICO. You can advertise all you want but you need to be different an be passionate about the coin/business model you're selling. Advertisement is important but only to a certain extent. At some point you want to establish a genuine community (not by paid accounts nor shills) that 'advertises' for you.

From marketing perspective be knowledgeable yet creative. Know your channels. Don't think that you'll succeed just buying tons of display ad,  ICO marketing and PR is not the same in comparison with traditional tech projects.

BTW, I'll share here the fresh yet helpful Telegram channel that give good tips about how to run a successful ICO, including marketing, PR, social media, as well as advisors and investors relations. https://t.me/yoken

Please share your sources in return.
