The main problem I have seen with promoting an ISO is the incredible volume of spammers. Even here on this forum, there are hundreds of profiles, maybe thousands, that sell themselves out at very high rates to just talk about your ICO in these forums. Then, most of the ICO and Blockchain news sites, only will post something if you pay them, which makes them a non-definitive site of information. A better model would be to take that information and make it available and then sell ads or other services on top of it and disclose that ahead of time. Pretty much no one discloses their fees until you try to list, then they want $5000 to just put a small link for your ICO. The entire environment is so cluttered up with noise and spam and scams, it's frustrating.

Besides having a bounty campaign and a signature campaign, what are other forms of promotion for an ICO that is essential to its success?

Of course a good underlying product is important and a white paper that explains it but as far as marketing vehicles is concerned - are there any other avenues worth exploring?

Bounties or not, I think the underlying factor apart from having a solid white paper is to get a slot on the coinmarketcap for advert placement. And make sure when that is done, there is a TELEGRAM for the project through which interested public can reach the company. I have bought into so many ICOs through this method and not through signature campaigns or sharing of bounties. Also, you can target some crypto groups and pages on social media, especially Facebook and Twitter. Always leave a TELEGRAM.

Traditional advertising such as google ads, youtube, .. always plays an important role in the success of any campaign. Not a signature campaign, not a translation campaign, it's a social media campaign that works best.
Yes social media is the most effective medium for disseminating products and advertisements. everyone is connected there from all over the world.
Just slack that makes me disappointed with the fishing case, I went away from slack.

i dont think so, and i believe signature campaign works well compare to social media because majority of users here in the forum ( not only here but on any other bitcoin forum )are all crypto related compared to social media which is mostly users there are just casual people and dont know how cryptocurency works.

Have everything together before going live.  Make sure to announce the announcements and it never hurts to have a full team spreading the word.

marketing strategy will be one factor you need to consider in promoting an ICO. There are so many social media platforms and messenger apps that you can use to broadcast your ICO. Some of those are facebook, twitter , slack, telegram and discord.
A people who can handle your campaign and an ambassador who will have knowledge about your ICO for every questions and inquiries

I think sig campaign like Qtum did, worked very well, they had many user and now they have good rank on coinmarketcap, but they also had some presentations in some places if I amn't wrong.
I think it's duty of ICO team to have a good manager. Attractive baner/logo does a good job too, then you need quality advertisement which will attract customers and give them a reason to send their time on seeing advertisement and following/clicking it.
Hard to explain everything because it's easy to tell shortly but hard to do in real life

Nope sig campaigns cannot really help for a coin to gain success since there are so many failed project who rely on sig campaigns only and I think the strong tools we can use is the social media networks and this is why kickICO gain success and the other ICO's since there are so many people are been alive on social media sites and also to backed this advertisement on we can used various things like posting our ads on different crypto sites.

The main factor still stays the same — you need to get a proven concept and its viable description. In most cases, you need the product itself (okay, alpha will do for now).
And don't forget market positioning. Where are you in the ecosystem?

That is the foundation. If you are done with all above, marketing will probably be not so complicated.

As far as I know, there is absolutely no evidence that signature campaign works.
You can measure Facebook ads ROI easily and they work. But you need to spend real fiat money on FBads.
Bounty programs that offer no quantitative results can't be proved to be effective.

A signature campaign works well for increasing SEO, you are effectively earning backlinks for your website every time someone posts using your signature.

In regards to media and PR, pay to play definitely works in this industry, the return on ad spent is ridiculous.

There are a few big players out there (not affiliated with any entity within these companies):

- Vindyne Group
- Famous Publicity
- Wachsman pr

Marketing and PR alone can take an ICO from 1 million to 10 million raise. Look at Paragon, they've made a killing and analysts such as Picolo Research have advised not to invest

There's a lot more to an ICO than just marketing and PR, but pay-to-play definitely exists within this industry..

When we look on a certain bounty program it would tend to go on all aspects either on signature, social, article, telegra or any other stuffs. We cant really get some evidence that it would or not but we can able to say such thing if the result of ICO would be success or not but considering that this forum do have the biggest traffic specially on crypto related would somehow be a good medium to advertise on compared on FBads which most people didnt even have an idea.

Besides good product and white paper, you'll need a good team and advisors. You could spend some money on a marketing campaign on social media and banner ads.
It is also important to actively give news about your project and reply to all questions in your communities.

Last time i checked whitepaper of new project that aims to promote new ICO ideas. They want small percent of raised funds for promoting project. Advertisers should be carefully chosen by team developeres if they want to show themselves as professional.
