Hold BTC or Buy Altcoins - Hard fork

I can`t see any problem here or a reason to change anything. Probably the same thing will happen like in the Bitcoin Cash fork.

I have been holding bitcoin all along and it will never be wrong. What is the worst case that can happen when you hold bitcoin? In the case that bitcoin price fall after the fork, the alt coin that people are holding will also suffer a dip. These alt coins are correlated to bitcoin. However, there are some alt coins will able to tank more than bitcoin so that can be a better option like ltc. But you will still have an extra coin now to reduce your losses.

The best scenario is to buy both BTC and altcoins in the dip. However due to limited money, I will choose to hold BTC and buy altcoins that is super cheap in the dip.

I am already deep into alts and have no interest in selling them now at these low prices. I do have some reserve bitcoin in my cold storage, which I will be using again to buy more alts a day or two before the bitcoin gold fork.

Same here mate! I was really having some hopes last week that some of the coins would get pumped somehow this week, so rather than selling for losses, I held and had a very busy weekend to monitor the price, only to get to bittrex this morning to see a huge bloodbath for almost all the Alts. The best thing however like you have said is just to hold until the coast is clear and we can start seeing some more pumps for them gradually after the fork maybe.

This is what you will do. Take profit when BTC will go at 5200 USD. And then while the market is on its red mark at that time. Go and sell your bitcoins and buy alternative coins. THat's how you'll do it. And take profit on altcoins. Switch to BTC and then get btc gold

Its really going to be hard to decide the way altcoins is going to directed byt generally there is going to be a pump but on which direction is what we don't know. The deciding factor still relies on investing what you can afford to lose and have it at the back of your mind that its a risk you willing to take. For me, I will buy the few ones I believe in while the ones I have currently, will still be held till the post fork period.

With what is going on in the market presently, you really would not want to consider exchanging your bitcoin for altcoin cause that apparently will be your loss in three ways.
1. People are dumping altcoins pretty fast just to get the free cash being spread around by holding bitcoin.
2. Bitcoin's value is increasing gradually and it wont be nice if you come back and cant get bitcoin for that value you sold it anymore.
3. You will really do not want to miss the train of at least some free cash.

Yes. I also have a similar opinion. With the current situation on the btc market pays much more, and probably stands. Do not risk too much because it is rarely worth it. In your place I would certainly not do it.

I voted hold bitcoin , bitcoin always is main  in crytocurrenty world.   Hard fork or soft fork is no effect  with bitcoin .

However , with bitcoin gold  i think investors like hold bitcoin to have more bitcoin gold . investors can buy  huge amount bitcoin  to receive bitcoin gold , this is power push   price bitcoin $10000.

Both for me, but I don't think this one will be as lucrative as bitcoin cash was.
I have a lot of alts that are too low for me to want to sell. I'm expecting money to flow from alts to btc in advance of the fork though, and then flow back afterwards. The most important thing to do is not panic sell if there are any crazy price fluctuations.

Today I just use 100% of my BTC to buy more AltCoin, and will keep trading them until the Fork.
If I'm lucky enough and can take profit on my AltCoin 3 days prior to the Hard Fork, I might fancy a break and stay 100% BTC.

Basically it will all depend of the opportunity... and 2 weeks is a lot of time left!
