I currently have 8 Bitmain Antminers on the way and I am in the United States. Looking for some experienced miner help - currently I am planning on ordering EVGA 1600W P2 Supernova power supplies for my miners, but given that they are A) Expensive and B)More powerful than they have to be for an antminer. Are there any ideas for 120 or 240v PSUs that are cheaper and work well?

BBT did a review on a Generic platinum 2400 W PSU that uses dual 110 V lines with 18 8-pin connectors for $90 that he ordered direct from the factory that makes them. He seemed to think it was an OK piece for the price.

I ordered one to try as well. The total with shipping was $181.

I suggest you use server psu instead of atx psu it is more efficient, cheaper and built to run 24/7

Just curious... why you did not ordered APW3++ PSU from Bitmain for your miners ? Smiley

Its still much cheaper than any of those EVGA 1600W P2 Supernova PSU's

It would be great if those psu's can handle two S9 ...
But those PSU's are rated to 2400 watts , its way overkill for your power needs for one S9 . Of course much cheaper than EVGA SuperNOVA 1600 P2

There is the Specification form Bitmain website about S9 miners power usage for different batches :

Quote
Power Consumption
1127W (11.5TH/s batch),
1225W (12.5TH/s batch),
1274W (13TH/s batch),
1323W (13.5TH/s batch),
1372W (14TH/s batch)
(at the wall, with Bitmain’s APW3 PSU,93% efficiency, 25°C ambient temp). Expected discrepancy of +10%

Specifically because I was thinking I was going to be on 110v power and was unsure if Bitmain PSUs can power their machines on 110v or if I'll break 'em. Would rather have overkill PSU that I know does the job than break 800$ worth of cheap psus and have to reorder, downtime, all of that. With that said, I found a way around my 110v situation. I'm gonna have 90A of 240v installed and use 30A server pdus like this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0007YG85A/ref=asc_df_B0007YG85A5209521/?tag=hyprod-20&creative=394997&creativeASIN=B0007YG85A&linkCode=df0&hvadid=216538221087&hvpos=1o1&hvnetw=g&hvrand=17322525536285718228&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9033455&hvtargid=pla-350062801410.

So I ordered regular old bitmain psus - the warranty factor definitely applied to this.

UPDATE: Now I have to figure out the best sort of power distribution units, as the space I am renting is on 3-phase not 240v split-phase. Will a bitmain PSU run on 208 volt or other odd voltages?
