Why people try to create their own coins?

I am also surprised, why many developers are making new coins when of the many coins is using almost the same technology.
I think the coin would be great if a good coin was developed to become a better and better coin.
If making a new coin then the coin has 2 opportunities, namely the chance of failing in the Cryptocurrency market or succeed and become a high coin price.

The only purpose is to make money. Sometimes they do not know what pennies they create for what purpose, they just copy the ideas from other projects and promote the coins they create on the Crypto sites.
