It depends on which altcoin you are holding for last 6 months, if you have bought them at peak prices than you might have to wait longer to get any profit out of it and if you have bought some shitcoins when they were pumped by some pump group than you might never get any profit from them and you have to ultimately sell them for loss.

 Not all the altcoins are a good chest piece. Digital currencies are the right investment because they will be not only increasing in their prices but become the future money also. In altcoins, I see potential of surviving in ethereum, monero, litecoin, dogecoin, ripple, waves, neo, ethereum classic and lisk. Spending in bitcoin can actually give more profits than all of them.

I think altcoins have a future when the project is really good, the developer is strong and has a large community. Currently, altcoins are affected when the bitcoin value decreases, and the bad news around. In my opinion, the price of these good altcoins will increase over time. Dead or abandoned projects or scammers will have no future when its value will be lost.

The problem is that people get in crypto with hopes or dreams to get profit in a short term. But yeah cryptocurrency is about patience. You have to invest for a long term and wait years to earn really good amount of money because it is how it works. But there also could be that your projects are just unsuccessful

In my opinion, I think the future for some altcoins is not certain. Bitcoin is still rising and it will moon soon. Some altcoins will die mostly because some of them have a really bad project. I think that 50% of the altcoins are going to die in the near future except they have a good project in place to back it up.

Bitcoin is on the rise as usual, but I think that Altcoins have great profits if your choose wisely, need good research and study whitepaper, see their roadmap and check the team behind the ICO.

If you keep 1 altcoyin simply to keep - the thick you are doing wrong.
You need to buy at the same price, wait until it grows and sells. Then invest in another altcoin.
