A CPU (Central Processing Unit) and a GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) are different hardware components in a computer.
This old blog post here explains it well: https://blogs.nvidia.com/blog/2009/12/16/whats-the-difference-between-a-cpu-and-a-gpu/

You don't use either of these to mine Bitcoin anymore as they are too inefficient.
I'd recommend that you read here first: https://www.bitcoinmining.com/
The front pages summarizes what you need to know quite well.

mining in GPU and CPU is already phased out from bitcoin mining, you need to have a huge capital and investment in buying equipment for mining as it is using ASIC Bitcoin Miner to earn some bitcoin from the mining pool. it is pointless to mine bitcoin now using your own PC components, another thing to consider is the electricity, as it consumes a lot of it and can cost a lot of penny to pay for your bills, consider also your to where you want to establish your mining facility as it produce high temperature due to the equipment, as mentioned above read the topics of the website to learn from mining bitcoin, but i recommend to mine altcoins if you are using GPU.

Not true at all, i actually met a few friends from the philipines on this forum and othr forums.
There is a fairly large group of miners in the philipines actually, and is still pretty profitable im assuming.
Ive shipped a fair amount of hardware to the philipines, so if your planning to start mining there. I say go ahead! Do your due diligence, and mine away!

I wouldn't recommend using your CPU or GPU to mine since it will reduce the lifespan of your equipment (if you have used equipment and you don't mind then go ahead). Also keep in mind that mining with CPU or GPU is not super profitable.

You should invest in an antminer if you can.

You can see the approximate profits you would make on this website, I find it pretty useful! https://www.nicehash.com/profitability-calculator/

Cheers.

I think if you control heat (and you have to control heat if you do mining) lifespan reducing is not a such big thing you should worry about.

Seems fair, but it will affect it a little bit still, in my opinion. Personally, I wouldn't use new equipments (CPU or GPU) to mine.

im a beginner in mining too and its hard to me how its work, so thanks for this information, I will read this several time just to be sure that I will learn in this link. because I want someday to have own mining rig that can mine any coins. and must preferred to mine bitcoin as well.

This too is my issue because i though internet in philippines is slow and its gonna have a hard time mining it with electricity problems. I plan to buy hardware in other countries but i cant find any good site to find what i need specifically. Could you give me some site or services you could offer and i think about it if i will buy or not. I could work for pool mining if i cant really do it. Just for a head start.

Im also here because I want to see some answers, like you Im just a beginner in mining crypto.

As i know (correct me if im wrong), the GPu will solve a complex mathematical equations in order to mine but isnt the cpu have a greater computational power ?
Why so many GPU and now many CPU?

Yep that's true. Bitcoin mining in the Philippines is weak because everything there is expensive. From the elctricity costs, internet and maintenance of your rig. I don't think it can give you a decent profit. That's why the volume of miners there are pretty low. You need to have a solar powered mining rig in able to maximize your profit. But this need a serious amount of money in able to build it. Many miners at the Philippines stopped their operations because it's not profitable. You need to mine where the electricy cost is cheaper. So if you're planning to mine bitcoin there. Do the math. But i don't think you can keep up.

High electricity costs
Slow and expensive internet

These are some major problems you're gonna encounter once you mine there. So think again before jumping in to this business.

Agree, so much topics about mining here that you don't know where to start reading.  Grin
And before you divulge yourself in mining, know how to calculate the profitability as you might end up earning very little or nothing at all.
Just a couple of sites that can help you estimate your ROI -

I hope to learn more. Thanks.
