Probably that is the main reason. As far as I remember, in the recent segwit2x last August, same thing happened, its market valu dumped before the fork and increase right after it. And maybe that's the reason why the value of Bitcoin is stucked at 6000$ and will also probably increase after the fork and make it possible to reach 7000$ before this year end.

It is incredible how fast bitcoin is moving these days your prediction was right except for the time frame, it did not took bitcoin more than a few days after the fork to reach the current price of 7552 so predicting what price is going to have at the end of the year is becoming harder, but I think that even if in the past the price of 10000 dollars per bitcoin seemed ridiculous that is no longer the case and it is possible we reach that before the end of the year.

There's no more fork that will happen and everyone has been waiting for their announcement but look the price of bitcoin. It's quite stable now at $7,000 and I guess there is a confidence now to say that this is the new floor price of bitcoin. Many pulled out their funds and put it now with some alts since the alt killer (fork) is not going to happen anymore. I don't believe that price will drop so hard mate because even if bitcoin's challenging moments that time of splitting fears, people doesn't mind it. Most of us remained calm and never panic, except the banning speculations of china bitcoin economy. It may have affected a little but It doesn't take down the price to worst price, and bitcoin was really surviving the challenge which eventually recovering its price as well up to now at $7000; that was really unstoppable.

China hasn't banned Bitcoin. They have just shut down bitcoin exchanges - there is a big difference between the two. Bitcoin miners are flourishing. Over the counter trades are happening. They are just checking out whether Bitcoin can be controlled.

In fact this is effect demand of people are increasingly realizing the great potential bitcoin. So, value doesn't seem unstoppable. Expectations of economists seen to be true, where bitcoin has potential as the best alternative than fiat or banking to conduct financial transactions.

I really would not be surprised if it does before the end of the year.
We have had so many predictions which seemed impossible and we have seen them achieved pretty fast and even faster than we expected it to happen. Once the fork is over and bitcoin's value keeps rising even further, then believe me we are heading straight up to that value and possibly more than if care is not taken.
