yes, please don't open on any even days either or don't do business ever for 10 minutes on either side of the 3rd hours, my magically dust bunny wants me to go outside and bury chopsticks and do a dance at those times. its only right.

Come on, we're not a nation of atheists, even if some people here are!
Just a friendly reminder: We are not a nation, but a global community. Mt. Gox is sitting in Japan, there are traders in Europa, Asia, Africa, Australia, and also some in the US. 15 GMT works fine: Most people in the US are already awake, while most people in Japan aren't already asleep. And of course it's also daytime in Europe. So for most people 15 GMT is at some point during the morning/day/evening, and only few people need to trade during the(ir) night. In addition, it's Sunday, so many people don't need to work today (except for some middle-eastern countries, where Friday takes the role of our Sunday). So I'd say that Sunday 15 GTM is one of the fairest solutions for everybody. If this doesn't work for you just don't go to church. Or buy a 3G SIM card and take your laptop with you.

holy crap you just gave me a great idea. can you think of a better way to get bitcoins accepted then to give them as offerings at churches? mind=blown. Wonder how an instawallet url in the collection box would be handled with ... (Disclaimer: I neither use instawallet nor collection boxes but maybe someone who trusts both is willing to give it a shot?)

Your an atheist but your avatar is a picture of Buddha?
So how the fuck does that work??
Not real familiar with Buddhism, are we? (PROTIP: Buddha is not a god) Brother, might I remind you of Romans 8:28? Might one remind you of Exodus 20:8-11? The objection, if you have cause to have one, should be that it's on a Sunday at all... not just "B-b-but I'll miss the opening! Can't it wait till I get back from church?" True Christians™ should be spending today with their families, not fucking about on messageboards and exchanges, no?

Are you kidding?
HAHAH this is kinda funny though. I was thinking the same thing for religious Jews who trade, the original Gox opening was on a Saturday when Jews can't use their computers, phones, or cars in honor of the Sabbath.

Mt. Gox -- you should delay a few hours until most people get back from church.
Come on, we're not a nation of atheists, even if some people here are!
15:00 GMT is:
11:00 EDT 10:00 CDT 9:00 MDT 8:00 PDT
That is basically PRIME TIME for churches across America on Sunday morning.
Come on, Mt. Gox -- show a little respect for America's religious sensibilities!
Matthew
I don't know if you are a troll, but anyways thank you for giving us the opportunity to say fuck religion!

OP... Time is relative, therefore for God time isn't linear. Case-fucking-closed. (For the sake of argument)

I clicked this link expecting to see some troll post about how the only thing backing bitcoins is faith in the currency, and how that faith is no different from faith in god. This was a much more entertaining result.
