I lost 80% of my bitcoins in alts, What can I do now?!

Greed is what caused people losing money in the crypto world.

If they all stuck to BTC, they would be happy by now.

Greed would lead us losing our money or make a great profit. To those who still hold/bought bitcoin since many years ago, they are deserve for great profit.
It's same to those who bought altcoin at very cheap price and still hold it until now.

Don't sell now. You waited for 4 months, you should wait until the BTCG fork is over - money will flow back from BTC to the alts.
You won't get back up to what you had in June, but it'll be a better exit point if you're willing to sell at a loss and invest in new coins.
Last advice: always keep some BTC.

Well, I am afraid you are asking that question very lately. Holding is only a good strategy for bitcoin, actually it is invented for bitcoin. I do not understand why people adapting that holding strategy into altcoins. Altcoins has to be trading in short term. I mean how come digibyte or stratis be good investment for long term, lets say a better investmend that bitcoin?

I would say you can start trading, buy lows on these altcoins in order to reduce the average cost of altcoins. and sell once they reach higher. you can minimize your loss using such strategy.

Well OP's opportunity cost should now be in the hundred thousands or million $.

Selling out altcoins for the sake of bitcoin does make sense to me, selling out bitcoin for ethereum, monero, litecoin and other famous altcoins does also make a little sense to me but giving up on all of the bitcoins for buying Stratis and other such altcoins, sorry to say, but makes zero sense.

I think this would have become his greatest regret of life. Bitcoin is now touching 6k dollars. The best is to buy bitcoin again.

I bought in Zcoin about a year ago, the price was around $4, few week later it went down all the way to 40c.  I thought it will never come back.
 6 months later I sold it for almost $20. It happened and will always happen. Just hold on them and stop thinking about it.

That is very sad. We are the same. Since I started in Bitcoin, someone introduced me trading of altcoins, since I'm newbie in trading. I just bought and bought before without knowing anything, I realized last month that I bought in the top price of particular altcoin, so how many months I still holding my altcoins and wait.

Always remember to plan your trade and trade your plan. It is important to somehow monitor your investment once in a while.It is your money you are taking risk, so why not give much attention to it. As the saying goes, if you can hold your losses for a long time then you are an investor my friend. If entering trading, you must asses your self if you are a trader or an investor. If you are a trader then you must have a stop loss to maximize the use of your funds.

Well, there is strategy called Average down! If you had been using the strategy you may not have lost so much. It is not late now. Double the units you have in all these coin. Any 10 % to 20% increase in price will automatically put you in profit! Keep buying the deep and you won't lose a dime at the end of the day!

Well for me average down is only applicable to the coins worth to keep but if it is just a shit or garbage coin this can only prolong your loss if you average down. I suggest you have to do research the coins where you invested if they have a good project maybe its worth to keep but if there's none you better sold it before it will drop deeper. better to invest in much stable coins next time to avoid this to happen again

If I were in your position I will still hold the coins that I bought. Just wait and believe that the price of your coin will increase when the time comes. Its possible! Just look at the bitcoin price before, it started at low price but now as you can see its huge. For me, altcoin has a potential that will get you profited. Just wait and have some patience.

Maybe this isn't for you. Getting advice won't help you that much, experience will. You need to have some knowlegde before jumping in alt coins. Seems to me like you wanted to make some profits in the short term, but in alt coins it doesn't work that way. You need to do some research on the alt coin you're going to invest in, analyse the market, the price, build some skill in trading alt coins, there are many factors out there that can make you loose all your money in one second, but if you know what you're doing, you will see some good results. Lesson learned, and good luck next time.

its a must to read more before you make some actions as for now better to hold and keep it as it is never go and do a panic unless its already a project which losing supports coming from the dev itself but considering theirs always some hope we are inside crypto and more unexpected things are happening even a dead coin for a year sometimes showed a huge pumped.

First, you are not the only one who lost 80% of their investment in Altcoins out there, there maybe more and they are just silent and working their way up and recover. With the upcoming hard fork and if you have little knowledge about trading, how to determine which coins to buy and if you have weak hands, better stay away from Altcoins for now or you will lose more. Don't jump into trading without research and because some guy bragged how much he earned in trading in the past few days.

Bitcoin should be invest in top class coin which is running in the crypto market with strong market cap. I think you invested your bitcoin in very cheaper price coins which has no any existence in the market and cheaper coins are mostly used for pump and dump policy. some new people entered in the market and due to lack of knowledge of trading, people mostly stuck in the dead coin which have a huge quantity supply and not any demand of particular coins.
you can cover your 20% bitcoin by selling all altcoins and buy some solid coins for long time and you will recover all loss of bitcoin.
