Hey there

In june & July I bought Digibyte & Stratis & Siacoin with all my bitcoins, till now I lost almost 80%

What can I do, HOLD or Sell or What!

Same Situation faced. i bought 2500$  , now its worth 400 usd. I got so fedup so then i sold. Then i invested in ICO Specially powerledger  and also i have done bounties in several ICO's

Now again my portfolio is 2000$

There are no shortcuts. we have to think strategically. i think you sell and put those in promising ICO's

we all need universal power and cyclist of Everything

The thing here is to be active while holding your tokens. You can exchange them witch BTC, ETH and each other. This protects you from huge loss. You can also open positions on margin trade while the market is undergoing price dumps.

This is the reason why you should not invest on altcoins that you really don't know, you should have predicted and understood how those altcoins are standing and probably think what you could have invested in bitcoin more than in altcoins. What you can only do is hold and hope for the bests in those altcoins that you invest. I just don't know why you use 80% of your bitcoin and invest it in 3 altcoins that are really now known. If it was me I would have invested in those known altcoins but my suggestion, for now, is held on until it pumps. Good luck Wink

Has the OP updated us on this decision?

In case anyone else finds himself in a similar position: First, try not to let it go so far! Dont go all in on 1 or 2 alts trying to get insane gains over a small amount of time. For all the new crypto millionaires out there who gambled on a single coin and won, there are plenty more who lost that bet and now have nothing or significantly less.

I have 50% drop of my portfolio cause I invest in alts heavily but I'm felling calm cause in Q1 2018 it will rise as never. Depends on what coins did you invest in

You are not alone bro, It is always like that in cryptospace, new traders always hold one altcoin and when it pump , they hodl and hope it will pump more and missed the chance to sell, and sell with it dump more than 50%... Try to be smart and diversify your portfolio and have your own simple trading rule like ( always sell at 30% profit and dump at 10% lose). You can also learn TA online, it help a lot for trading.

You really really really shouldn't have moved over 80% of your bitcoin to alts which is the only way this could happen.

Anyways.  If the project still has hope and active development just hold.  Like Siacoin.  After large crashes is the best time to buy ones that still have a promising future.

It sad thing to read. All those hard earned coins gone in some scammer's pocket. People spending their effort to research loosing and ones who hodl earning much. I would follow strategy 70% to BTC, 15% to ETH, 10% to promising altcoins which is gaining popularity and only 5% as a charity to support trustworthy ICOs.

should be dihold only because if you sell now certainly will add a lot of losses you will get, but I am sure for the next few days the price will be normal again.

Hold on to alts for sometime as they may spike again. Sell all your alts in the spike and go to BTC and HODL.

If you already lost 80% then you should just hold this coins because they would go back up eventually.

At the time of your posting, Digibyte went down more but as I can see before, it was pump hard before going down and there is a possibility of it going back up again. It is in accumulation stage right now and if the team is still active then it would go back up.

There are many investors in Stratis and they have a good project but because of the delay of their plans and failed promises, many are disappointed and sell off their coins but there are still many who are holding and it is going back up. If you check the chart, it had a bull run in June and if you hold to the coin, whales may pump it again.

There is not that much movement in Siacoin but they are very active. Price now is very cheap. You can have the option of adding more to your bag so that you can average down. Alts cannot really made a major move nowadays because bitcoin is having a bull run.

Just relax and wait for the price of the BTC to return to the break-even point. 90% of the readers of this forum in the same ass, do not worry. Be patient and HOLD.

Depends on what alt you invested in, if it has good technology and bring some features to its users you can hold until don't go to plus.

It's funny I've tried day trading, buying tons of different altcoins. Buying low / selling high (and failing). My buddy just bought bitcoin and held it. He's doing almost as good as me while literally doing absolutely nothing. Feeslbadman.

That is very sad to hear something like this happen but we all learn from mistakes so i would say just start again but invest 80% in btc this time 10% in ethereum and the other 10% in other trust able coins.

If I were you, I would not choose to sell, because now the price has fallen to very low, and the most recent common currency is going up, when the price is similar, in the choice to sell

In my opinion for the better sell it when going up 10%-20% more, then start to do short trading again with other altcoin . Because the price of BTC all the time bullish so will be more safe to do short trading.  Before jump in to trading should be have risk management and trading plan to minimize the risk.

Bitcoin should be invest in top class coin which is running in the crypto market with strong market cap. I think you invested your bitcoin in very cheaper price coins which has no any existence in the market and cheaper coins are mostly used for pump and dump policy. some new people entered in the market and due to lack of knowledge of trading, people mostly stuck in the dead coin which have a huge quantity supply and not any demand of particular coins.
you can cover your 20% bitcoin by selling all altcoins and buy some solid coins for long time and you will recover all loss of bitcoin.
