I sent a email on their website and received a response from the person claiming to be their founder as I had made a 1 ETH contribution during the first hour but hadn't received anything in the way of tokens in the hours folowing. His response was "Hi,

To provide investors' money safety sending tokens is carried out in a half automatic mode on October 18.

Thanks for understanding!

---
Makoto Takahashi  (Founder, Investor)

I also asked about the transaction field data but received no response, only "We send tokens to the address which has been used for transferring"

Finally I asked about the oddities found on their website code and further clarification regarding the transaction date field when sending payment but have yet to receive another response.

Hmm, definitely fishy. I had made a 1 ETH contribution as well, which was accepted on Etherscan without the data field filled in properly

Yes, seems like a great concept, but doesn't really look legit.

Any comments from the devs about the GoT links in the code? Is your site hacked already?

I think this is a scam too. Too many indicators like you guys already mention. And all these Noob comments looks really strange! Good luck to all investors. I hope this is not a scam. And if not I will definitely invest on exchanges

All the positive posts seem like the same person. What real person comments just to say "good luck" lol. Also this project has 450k sign ups but less than 200 twitter followers?

Here are some RED FLAGS regarding this ICO and the reason why I beleive it's a SCAM.

1. The user promoting the ICO have changed both his password and email recently. This is usually the case when dealing with either stolen accounts or purchased ones, in order to add credibility to a thread: Proof ? Check his profile:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=319040
"Trust summary for HaRR0o
This user's password was reset recently.
This user's email address was changed recently."

2.In the websie source code, there are links/refferences to Cartoons, Watch Anime, Narruto, Game of Thrones and so on, which is totally irellevant to an Esports ICO. This shows, once again, unprofessional and suspect behaviour. Proof ?

Here's part of  the source code of their ICO's first page:
"
<p style="display:none;"><a href="http://gameofthroneswatch.online/" title="game of thrones" rel="follow"></a>
<a href="http://dbsuper.xyz/" title="watchdragonballsuper" rel="follow"> Watch Dragon ball super </a>
<a href="http://watchnaruto.xyz/" title="watch naruto" rel="follow"></a>
<a href="http://watchbsd.xyz/" title="watch bsd" rel="follow"></a>
<a href="http://watchgta.xyz/" title="watch gta" rel="follow"></a>
<a href="http://watchbha.xyz/" title="watch bha" rel="follow"></a>
<a href="http://kabaneriwatch.online/" title="watch kabaneri" rel="follow"></a>
<a href="http://watchberserk.xyz/" title="watch berserk" rel="follow"></a>
<a href="http://dgraymanwatch.online/" title="watch dgrayman" rel="follow"></a>
<a href="http://gameofthrones-season6.xyz/" title="game of thrones" rel="follow"></a>
<a href="http://watchanimes.online/" title="watch berserk" rel="follow"></a>
"

3.The article on Cointelegraph about their ICO is posted by a " Guest Author ", not by a well known person. Proof ?
https://cointelegraph.com/news/worlds-first-ethereum-based-esports-platform-launched

4.ICO contribution magically went from 0 to 70% in few minutes, then jumped to 92% and got STUCK there for minutes. Reason ?  Very simple psycology: First, you set it to 70% so it looks like a lot fo people already contributed and rushed to buy the tokens, though making the possible victims believe it was a legit ICO and the tokens are valuable since the whole project sold 70% of the tokens in the first 5-10 minutes. Secondly, it was set to 95% and STUCK there forever to induce the second part of the message to the potential customers/victims, just like you see in teleshopping commercials "buy now, last product!" or, in this case "buy now, last 8%". This induces FOMO ( fear of missing out), which is a common practice in crypto space. These two tactics combined would make some unaware victims, when used properly

5. Incredible high bonus, 100% for the 1st hour, 90% for the first day and so on. While it is common to see a 10-30% bonus for ICOs and up to 70-80% for PRE-ICOS,  it still feels very unnatural to see a straight 100% bonus during a normal ICO phase.

I hope to be proven wrong with all these points, but couldn't risk not to report this, as people might actually lose hard worked money on such scams. Not to mention the bad impact on the whole crypto scene. Sorry for all the possible grammar mistakes, as I wrote this while actually working in real life.

Thanks for your input and detective work. Smiley And yeah, that doesn't look good. Let's hope that the dev has some answers.

Just dropped 1 ETH to World of Battles...I neglected to look up this kind of thing, but now I'm really worried after reading this thread.   Cry . I got the same email regarding automatically getting my tokens tomorrow on October 18th.  It doesn't look like the eSports organizations that they claim are partners are actually affiliated with World of Battles...is there anything you can do if all of this is true and already contributed ETH?

Yup, not looking good. I joined their slack and it is completely inactive.
It was too good to be true.

Guys, I invested in that ICO after reading Cointelegraph.
Then I checked this thread and after reading the scam alerts, I sent a message to the TEAM SECRET of Dota2.
They just responded to me the below message:

Thanks for reaching out.

We are not in any way involved in this project - and we've asked World of Battles to remove us from their site and marketing materials. This came to our attention yesterday and is currently being rectified. Our brand was used without permission and we are taking steps to defend its usage.

John

So, yes, sadly, this ICO is probably a SCAM. Don't do the same mistake as me!!!

The 100% bonus for the first hour is very tempting. I also think that if you can solve the current problems in the eSports industry and make a competitive platform this project could do really well. Who knows if this is the platform that will take the eSports scene to a whole new level.

But one thing is sure, idealizing it is very different than accomplish it, you will have a very high mountain to climb but I really hope you guys can pull it off.

Thanks for another generic nonsensical comment ending with good luck. Did you see my comment earlier about that so you decided to abbreviate this one? "Gl."

I thought he was trolling, but checked it by myself aswell and this really is on their website. ( right click and select "view page source, in Mozilla for example). Seems like a stolen template which got edited, but they forgot to edit this last part. Red flags indeed, including the fact that they posted few days ago, the article on websites like cintelegraph doesn't evne have a day and so on. Usually this is done when you don't want your potential customers to start digging information about yourself, your project, your website etc

I'm glad, I alerted someone
