There are 2 weaknesses the developers must solve to give Bitcoin become the best payment system in the world. The first is that transaction speed is too long and the second, the fee is too high.

As of now the fastest and cheapest transaction fee is 170 satoshis/byte, which means that for the median transaction size of 226 bytes the fee will be around 38,000 satoshis. Whether it is a lot or not, $3.8 for a fast, under 30 minutes, transaction, depends on the amount you want to transfer. Of course this is a lot if you you want to transfer below $40 but for transferring $200+ the fee is not so unbearable.

bitcoin won't become anything, it already is both a worldwide cryptocurrency and a payment system!!!

it will get adopted more though. and what is changing these days is that people are forgetting that bitcoin is meant to be a currency first and then an investment second. but because of the price rise everyone just thinks of bitcoin as purely an investment that they are going to dump as soon as they fear a tiny drop.

It is not the best yet. Visa is still a better payment system, and other cryptocurrencies outpace it when it comes to features. We will get there tho.

Yes maybe it could be, but since I enter trading bitcoin until now I didn't experience to have any transactions online using bitcoin as a mode of payment. So base on my observation this is not totally near to happen unless worldwide countries accept bitcoin as a legal matter used as a payment of bills not only in world of internet but also in our society.
