You should try out cgminer.

I use cgminer because other people have already done the hard work and figured out the best settings to use.

It's a little awkward to change settings at first, but you'll get used to it. Some pools can generate a configuration script for it too.

Litecoin is different then bitcoin it runs on script.

cgminer works best for me, you can always post questions here or search the archives when you run into issues such as setup and configs

Use www.eobot.com for LTC...it will automatically work with your CPU and convert the LTC to cash and pay in paypal

cgminer is great and very customizable. If you search around for your graphics card model, you'll stumble across optimal settings for it. You may need to tweak a few parameters here and there to optimize your setup, but once you're dialed in, you should be good to go.

i started with guiminer myself when i decided to mine first time its absolutely dumbfriendly, but You will definitely want to use cgminer instead
