Is there any reason why the btc price is dropping that much today? Are people scared by the hard fork or why is it dropping?

a correction, it happens everytime after a big spike in the price, we might fall to 5000$ or even lower by the end of the week. Just know that this was bound to happen and it's normal. For now, you can chill and hold your coins, or if you're smart, buy some more coins.

Simply a correction, price spiked too high too quick. Expect the price to settle down somewhere around about 5k, perhaps lower if BTC gold really is as bad as some expect.

that is what's happening here. price went up from $4xxx level to $5500+ and now as the traders sell to take the profit, price comes down. in bitcoin whenever price comes down some panic and think it is the end, and probably some FUD accompany it which doesn't make thins easier either.

that means, price drops as you can see now. but as long as price is still in $5xxx level, it is not something worth talking about.

Why can't the market not just experience some normal volatility? From the all time high that we reached some days ago, it's not even a 10% decline to where we stand right now. People should really start to look at the actual facts instead of asking why the price is going down. At current levels when the price goes down with $500, it looks like it's a lot, but in reality it's not even a 10% downward movement. At some point when we're hovering around the $20,000 level, the same 10% swings means that the market goes up or down with $2000. Back in the days these 10% were just a $40 to $50 movement, but we're much further now - learn to adapt to the current market.

It's trading business it is not gonna be always rising price its only natural not that I am that you not worry about but not worry that much because again it's only natural for the trading industry. Maybe because people are not in the mood for selling their bitcoin because they want to keep it for a better purpose or maybe their just waiting for the price increase. value is moving down people will start to panic and they can grab those dumped coins again and pushed the value up, wise assessment is needed

In the first place, the drop is expected as always so this is just a normal scene whenever there is a strong pump happening. No reason at all except for usual dumping activity once panic was triggered.

Although past performance can't always guarantee future results, we must take that past performance as reference so that we have an idea why such a price drop will happened on the way.

A few days ago everyone was saying that the reason for the big Bitcoin increase was because of the upcoming hard fork because people wanted as much Bitcoin as they could get so they could get the forked coin as well.

So I don’t think the drop is because of the hard fork. In fact, the price rise may not have been due to the hard fork either since it’s still a week away.

It’s most likely that the increase and the drop are just the normal fluctuations in Bitcoin price. When Bitcoin has a big increase, it is often followed by a correction.

No, i doubt that the hard fork has anything to do with the actual price drop but i am pretty sure that it is related to big whales cashing out for some profit.
I think the price will increase again after a short time.

It's a simple move that the whales are doing, they are getting their profit altogether so that made the price lower because the supply of bitcoin is starting to have a lot again in the circulation. This will probably the last dip for this month as we are new to the hard fork of bitcoin gold.

No, they are not scared by the hard fork. It's just trading and profiting out of the peak of bitcoin's price and you have to expect this in the future that when the price of bitcoin is pumping, there will be profit takers that will sell their bitcoins.

Its just some big whales dumping their holding or cashing out their profit from this short term huge rally, current pump on price was only supported by high speculation over comming hard fork so bigger dump than this one is quite guaranteed after the hard fork.

Yes, it is not possible for the price to just continue rising. That's just crazy. It's normal for the price to go down a bit every now and then. This is why there are panic sellers. When there's a small price drop, some people lose their mind and sell or dump their coins in an instant because of the fear of losing their money. We shouldn't worry about this too much. Over the year, the bitcoin price has experienced numerous fluctuations yet its upward trending.

I'm not sure what to expect by the time the fork comes. It's possible to go up just days before the hard fork, but it may not break $6000 just yet.

I think its all over. Bitcoin has recovered quickly and bounced back to $5500 and the rally is still going on. With that said, I think it will moved on another upward trend after yesterday's consolidation. We may see that the price could really go higher than $6000 now. I'm very positive that after this ensuing price correction, we are heading to new ATH leading to the day of the hard fork. Will continue to hodl and wait for my prediction to happen.

There are a lot of reasons behind this immediate price drop yesterday, and its hard to pinpoint the exact reason why suddenly a lot of people just started to dump it. Maybe they just thought of cashing it out, or just moving their profit to other market like stock. But today, the price has already rebounded and its going on a positive direction. I'm hoping as well that the price could go as high as $6K before the fork because it will be another ATH and achievement for all of us bitcoin enthusiast. One thing though to remind everyone that we don't need to worry because investors has trusted bitcoin and we will not let the price go sub $5K again.

Unexpectedly the price of bitcoin increased again a few hours ago. the price is back on track to 5,500USD. this is an excellent improvement, I see an opportunity for higher bitcoin prices than it is today. the decline that happened yesterday is just a dump in my opinion, this can be seen from the activity of transaction volume in the exchange that is not too big. but we are lucky enough that bitcoin is not corrected much deeper. oh yes maybe just shortly before the fork, we must be smart to analyze and take the decision to avoid losses.

Don't invest on bitcoin if you have weak hands, there is always price fluctuating, Don't worry about them, I almost dumped 40 bitcoins which are not entirely mine But I remembered that I never bought any bitcoins above $4500 so when the price is above $4500 I have nothing to be worried about.
