So I've seen many threads created about Satoshi Nakamoto, the so called creator of Bitcoin. Which brought me to this question, Does Satoshi Nakamoto matter? Especially now that bitcoin is being accepted quite well, and also its value rising every day. Does it matter who its creator is? Or is he dead or alive or what he has to say? What impact will any of this can have on bitcoin today or tomorrow?

He holds around 6% of the current circulating supply of Bitcoins which makes him a billionaire if he actually exists anymore and also puts him on Forbes list of richest at place #237 if I read correctly earlier. Let alone for being the creator of this wonderful digital currency, he also paved way for the whole altcoin industry to take shape based on his work. Just look at his trust page on the forum you will realize how much appreciation the man has received. The only thing that matters about him is the 1.2% bitcoins he holds in his wallet which could crash bit coin economy if released at once.
The correct number is 5.89% which when priced at $6000/BTC makes his net worth a whopping $6 billion. SOURCE

In my opinion i think Mr. Satoshi and his team will matter most and monitored the continues improvement of his bitcoin but in way of secrecy and maybe he just keep himself at low profile which is a humble enough of most of the Japanese characteristics. To think he is the creator of bitcoin then he will be branded as billionaire and to be included as on of the rich personality in the world in which may also put his families in threat.

Satoshi really doesn't matter anymore. His design still remains today, but the code has changed immensely, and his coding was never great to begin with. I think that his legacy is the core design of Bitcoin, which is set in stone, as he is known to have said once. That's why there has been so much emphasis on backward compatibility in the forking debates over the past couple years. It's for the best that he disappeared. This way, Bitcoin can go mainstream without him/her/them being pressured into influencing or making changes to the protocol against popular consensus.

That was one of the theory, but as some documentaries have already explored ( The Rise and Rise of Bitcoin, Banking on Bitcoin, for example), he could be any one or some of the original cypherpunks (Hal Finney & Nick Szabo in particular), or Dorian Satoshi Nakamoto, or maybe even Craig Wright, as he's so adamant that he's Satoshi Nakamoto.

Well, yes he is matter because he is the owner of bitcoin and the future of bitcoin sometimes is in his hands because he. cn control it. Look at butcoin today it is too expensive and he is become billionaire because of that. He too excellent to create a crypto currency like this, he manage to build a very strong crypto currency and he is now in his victories even though bitcoin is not yet expose but the vlue of bitcoin, the moment people valued bitcoin is already his victory.

Satoshi's reputation does matter. He doesn't have to be involved in Bitcoin anymore, but his reputation can still hurt Bitcoin. We don't know who he is and what he's done in the past. If he's had run ins with the authorities before, then I can guarantee that this would be used against Bitcoin.
Whoever Satoshi is whenever a single entity or a group, he did the right thing by distancing himself from Bitcoin and holding the large amount of coins he does.

Even satoshi put His Identity in Public nobody will matter to it, unless He donate some of it. In my research the volatility of bitcoin depends on the biggest mining company adjusting some binary's to make it go up or down. Who really matters the most is the richest miners.

I guess whether he will join bitcoin or not it doesn't matter when his predecessors already adapted his digital currency and has far more improved it many code is added to bitcoin in order to better improve it, joining now i think he will become out of place cause cause his creation bitcoin has far more advance. Although he will become a momento as the man who founded a digital currency that will free as from bankers. This is how a currency should be. I think satoshi nakamoto already done his job introducing us bitcoin.

He really does matter of whoever he/she/they was, since he/she/they are the very important person/s that created this crpto coin and such really gain popularity and helped many people in their own individual life. Don't know if Satoshi is alive or dead but it's really matter because he/she/they are the creator of it. I don't know what would be the impact Satoshi would did if he is known by this time but I know many are thankful to him/her/them if they are well known publicly.

No he doesn't. And he created Bitcoin so that he wouldn't matter, which is most likely why he disappeared in the first place. Bitcoin is decentralized and thus doesn't need a leadership figure, which Satoshi Nakamoto would be.
In that sense, it's better if he remains hidden because the moment he shows himself and starts giving his opinions about Bitcoin's future, what people think will hold much less relevancy.

I think here for few people it will matters much about the bitcoin creater identity and for many of the bitcoiners it doesn't mean any matter . Here few people who are newbie want to enter in the world of Cryptocurrency to make earnings but a big problem they are facing by their heart is the proper identification of the bitcoin and owner and foundation that they can't found perfectly and definitely . Here I myself is a bitcoiners who have not mentility about the bitcoin creater , here we just use the word that Satoshi nakamoto named perosn created it but in actual it is only a name for me that helps me to describe about the bitcoin . Here the growth and technology that is associated with the bitcoin tells me clearly that what I need and what I don't need at all .

I think satoshi nakamoto is very important in the role of bitcoin, it can not be denied that satoshi is the creator of bitcoin and he certainly has an effect on the development of bitcoin today, but somehow satoshi does not want to appear, I think he also has a lot of bitcoin that can affect the market bitcoin from the past until recently.

It is a sort of gratitude for programming and creating bitcoins. If not for him, we would not have a hope to financially secure ourselves and to be free from worries given by financial matters. If he still alive, for sure, if he knows how to create bitcoin, then for sure he knew exactly how to turn it off or shut it down. And given that the smallest amount or part of bitcoin was named after him, he does matter.

The correct number is 5.89% which when priced at $6000/BTC makes his net worth a whopping $6 billion. SOURCEThat’s pretty cool to read guys. But despite of his holdings and what they can do it also matters in person with Satoshi. He is creator of it and the identity of bitcoin or the whole crypto world is because of him only. Have you forgotten Steve Jobs or Mark Zukerburg .?? At any point we don’t remember them but they matter a lot because they created something which is after their names and that’s a prestige. I’m just telling in non technical way. It’s not all about wealth always but innovative mind too. ;-)

Satoshi Nakamoto is the creator of bitcoin as we know it. The name may be a single person or a group but that doesn't matter at all. As we can see, this digital currency seems to be a long term currency and so stable by just looking at the graph. What matters most is the market value of bitcoin that is drastically rising that could even reach hundreds of thousands in the coming years.

Well for me, Satoshi and their team matter because if it's not for them there will be no bitcoin that made an impact to everyone of us. Sure, there are lots of upgrades and developments with btc through out the years even if their team have no interference but for me they still matter. Call me fanatic but I'll look up to them and will always be thankful for the bigger opportunities they paved for us.

What he have innovated matters and such a mind will always have a far greater ideas to make it grow high. So, along with the innovation his views based on the current market really Matters and adds value to it. But, if he reveals himself maybe this will get turned to be a controllable asset.

Even satoshi Nakamoto will open his identity on the public the price will only boost if he is a well-known identity and influential in the real world. But if it turns out to be just an ordinary one this will not affect to bitcoin price. But I doubt he will come up in the open for he might be targeted by mainstream media and banking haters of bitcoin. And even government will take a share from his hold bitcoin. The only thing that matters about him is the 1.2% bitcoins he holds in his wallet which could crash bit coin economy if released at once.

SOURCESo if the only reason he matters is because he owns 6% of bitcoin, and you fear the price would crash if he decides to cash his bitcoin in one go, the point would be why would he do that? Its illogical, he created bitcoin for good and he knows what would happen if something like that happens, so why would he do that, he obviously won't do it for the money because I'm sure by now he has enough of it already, and also to him, bitcoin would be more than just money.

Ofcourse he does. Without him, bitcoin wouldn't be the same as it is today. And we are also aware that Nakamoto holds a big percentage of bitcoin supply around the world. Though you might think that it is only the bitcoin that matters but every decision that he will do in regards to bitcoin might have a great impact to bitcoin's price.

The only main influence which still satoshi has got is the one million bitcoins which still he has.If he dumps it at once, then definitely bitcoin price would crash. It is for this reason many crypto members discuss frequently about his existence. But i don't think that he would ever dump his one million coins at once and crash his own creation bitcoin by himself.
Satoshi matters for bankers and governments since bitcoin which he has created has become their worst nightmare ever.

Satoshi Nakamato does matter for the governments. What do you people think? A random guy just shows up and changes the way world runs and just disappears and the governments would just let it be. To simply put it together, he must be hiding well all these days and he will continue to do so for his life. And the other thing that matters is the 6.4 percent of the 15.6 million bitcoins that are in circulation which Nakamato holds. So he literally can crash the bitcoin economy.

Absolutely yes, He is the investor of this whole crypto currency world. Satoshi Nakamoto is a genius man who sees the future that the world needs digital currency and he implemented it with his own vision way. Nobody knows who is the real Satoshi Nakamoto is but thr crypto world doesn't need him for research and development because he already gave his hard code to public but the world needs to recognize Mr. Satoshi for his creation.

Whether Satoshi Nakamoto is alive or dead, Satoshi Nakamoto matters alot, any time we want to talk about the impact bitcoin is making in the world globally that name must be mentioned.

The bitcoin market is recovering as investors have surpassed the initial shock and realized that China is no longer dominant in this market.

For me of course Satoshi Nakamoto matters to the bitcoin community for he is the maker and very well respected entity in this industry. Aside from the amount of percentage that he holds, he matters for he knows the ins and outs of the system, he knows the strengths and weaknesses of the system so for me in that aspect he really still matters up to this point We are in this position due to him so we should be thankful to him no matter what.

For me of course Satoshi Nakamoto matters to the bitcoin community for he is the maker and very well respected entity in this industry. I worry that if the "real" Satoshi ever emerged, that the community would largely bow to his authority. He deserves a lot of respect, but it's important to recognize also that Bitcoin moved on without him. Many other developers are responsible for taking Satoshi's design and making Bitcoin what it is today. If, for instance, he came back and started arguing for massive blocks like Craig Wright, I think those views need to be debated on their own merits, rather than deferring to his authority. Aside from the amount of percentage that he holds, he matters for he knows the ins and outs of the system, he knows the strengths and weaknesses of the system
We actually don't know how much he holds. For example, he may have simply destroyed the private keys to much of the early mined coins. Also, he could be dead. His design was groundbreaking, but I think others were better at finding its strengths and weaknesses.

His absence will not matter till he is absent. The community has become very strong; both developers and investors. Maybe had Satoshi been part of the community then it's opinion would have had influence on outcome of some of the major strategic shifts like BCC, BTC gold, Segwit2 etc
I think it is better for Satoshi to remain anonymous, it in one way symbolises the anonymity of bitcoin

if it wasn't for him, we wouldn't be here supporting this project but at this time, he's better to stay anonymous like he's doing since the start. It might even be risky for his life to show his real face. How much does he hold? it doesn't matter and by the way, as a matter of fact, if you would have created this massive monster called BTC i would have kept loads of coins even though it would not generate any income/value because it's like your baby who wouldn't keep most of it?

An anonymous Satoshi Nakamoto matters but to get out publicly I would assume it will not be as exciting as we thought it would be. A holding of hundred millions of dollars worth of bitcoin is not an easy thing to do and to reveal his self will trigger security and family issues.
If I were Satoshi, I will just leave the fame out of my mind and live a more normal life with wallets that huge he doesn’t need to do anything at all.

In theory it does not matter who satoshi nakamoto is. There is just one big problem. When he starts moving his coins around. Even just one transaction would probably make bitcoin fall because of panic sell. I think this is a point because big investors are afraid of investing into bitcoin. One unknown person holding so much bitcoins can harm the system and therefore makes big whales rather invest into safer, less profitable, investments. But as long the coins remain untouched, i think this does not matter and it will get less and less important to future possible investors.

Satoshi Nakamoto or the team of his odnodumtsev, who is behind this name, probably did the right thing that remained unknown. This makes the crypto currency more popular than the invention of a certain person. Bitcoin has already undergone significant changes and will continue to improve further, retaining its leadership position. Now it's not so important who was the creator of bitcoin, how important is its further functional improvement to the needs of the community.
