So I've seen many threads created about Satoshi Nakamoto, the so called creator of Bitcoin. Which brought me to this question, Does Satoshi Nakamoto matter? Especially now that bitcoin is being accepted quite well, and also its value rising every day. Does it matter who its creator is? Or is he dead or alive or what he has to say? What impact will any of this can have on bitcoin today or tomorrow?
It is a sort of gratitude for programming and creating bitcoins. If not for him, we would not have a hope to financially secure ourselves and to be free from worries given by financial matters. If he still alive, for sure, if he knows how to create bitcoin, then for sure he knew exactly how to turn it off or shut it down. And given that the smallest amount or part of bitcoin was named after him, he does matter.

He holds around 6% of the current circulating supply of Bitcoins which makes him a billionaire if he actually exists anymore and also puts him on Forbes list of richest at place #237 if I read correctly earlier. Let alone for being the creator of this wonderful digital currency, he also paved way for the whole altcoin industry to take shape based on his work. Just look at his trust page on the forum you will realize how much appreciation the man has received. The only thing that matters about him is the 1.2% bitcoins he holds in his wallet which could crash bit coin economy if released at once.
The correct number is 5.89% which when priced at $6000/BTC makes his net worth a whopping $6 billion. SOURCEThat’s pretty cool to read guys. But despite of his holdings and what they can do it also matters in person with Satoshi. He is creator of it and the identity of bitcoin or the whole crypto world is because of him only. Have you forgotten Steve Jobs or Mark Zukerburg .?? At any point we don’t remember them but they matter a lot because they created something which is after their names and that’s a prestige. I’m just telling in non technical way. It’s not all about wealth always but innovative mind too. ;-)

Satoshi Nakamoto is the creator of bitcoin as we know it. The name may be a single person or a group but that doesn't matter at all. As we can see, this digital currency seems to be a long term currency and so stable by just looking at the graph. What matters most is the market value of bitcoin that is drastically rising that could even reach hundreds of thousands in the coming years.

Well for me, Satoshi and their team matter because if it's not for them there will be no bitcoin that made an impact to everyone of us. Sure, there are lots of upgrades and developments with btc through out the years even if their team have no interference but for me they still matter. Call me fanatic but I'll look up to them and will always be thankful for the bigger opportunities they paved for us.

What he have innovated matters and such a mind will always have a far greater ideas to make it grow high. So, along with the innovation his views based on the current market really Matters and adds value to it. But, if he reveals himself maybe this will get turned to be a controllable asset.

I think if Satoshi came back I think it would be of great benefit. He's a genius and would be able to help with the current forks which are dividing the community every few months.

Even satoshi Nakamoto will open his identity on the public the price will only boost if he is a well-known identity and influential in the real world. But if it turns out to be just an ordinary one this will not affect to bitcoin price. But I doubt he will come up in the open for he might be targeted by mainstream media and banking haters of bitcoin. And even government will take a share from his hold bitcoin. The only thing that matters about him is the 1.2% bitcoins he holds in his wallet which could crash bit coin economy if released at once.

SOURCESo if the only reason he matters is because he owns 6% of bitcoin, and you fear the price would crash if he decides to cash his bitcoin in one go, the point would be why would he do that? Its illogical, he created bitcoin for good and he knows what would happen if something like that happens, so why would he do that, he obviously won't do it for the money because I'm sure by now he has enough of it already, and also to him, bitcoin would be more than just money.

Ofcourse he does. Without him, bitcoin wouldn't be the same as it is today. And we are also aware that Nakamoto holds a big percentage of bitcoin supply around the world. Though you might think that it is only the bitcoin that matters but every decision that he will do in regards to bitcoin might have a great impact to bitcoin's price.

I think yes, he or the group matters because they are the founder of bitcoin and without them there is no bitcoin. Aside from that they create a big impact to everyone, especially to us who earns bitcoin.

Yes, it is always matter. We should thank him and remember always, he is the one who develop bitcoin. Just let's keep on our mind that, if there is no Satoshi Nakamoto, there is no bitcoin, we don't earn now.

The only main influence which still satoshi has got is the one million bitcoins which still he has.If he dumps it at once, then definitely bitcoin price would crash. It is for this reason many crypto members discuss frequently about his existence. But i don't think that he would ever dump his one million coins at once and crash his own creation bitcoin by himself.
Satoshi matters for bankers and governments since bitcoin which he has created has become their worst nightmare ever.

Satoshi Nakamato does matter for the governments. What do you people think? A random guy just shows up and changes the way world runs and just disappears and the governments would just let it be. To simply put it together, he must be hiding well all these days and he will continue to do so for his life. And the other thing that matters is the 6.4 percent of the 15.6 million bitcoins that are in circulation which Nakamato holds. So he literally can crash the bitcoin economy.

Absolutely yes, He is the investor of this whole crypto currency world. Satoshi Nakamoto is a genius man who sees the future that the world needs digital currency and he implemented it with his own vision way. Nobody knows who is the real Satoshi Nakamoto is but thr crypto world doesn't need him for research and development because he already gave his hard code to public but the world needs to recognize Mr. Satoshi for his creation.

The bitcoin market is recovering as investors have surpassed the initial shock and realized that China is no longer dominant in this market.

For me of course Satoshi Nakamoto matters to the bitcoin community for he is the maker and very well respected entity in this industry. Aside from the amount of percentage that he holds, he matters for he knows the ins and outs of the system, he knows the strengths and weaknesses of the system so for me in that aspect he really still matters up to this point We are in this position due to him so we should be thankful to him no matter what.

For me of course Satoshi Nakamoto matters to the bitcoin community for he is the maker and very well respected entity in this industry. I worry that if the "real" Satoshi ever emerged, that the community would largely bow to his authority. He deserves a lot of respect, but it's important to recognize also that Bitcoin moved on without him. Many other developers are responsible for taking Satoshi's design and making Bitcoin what it is today. If, for instance, he came back and started arguing for massive blocks like Craig Wright, I think those views need to be debated on their own merits, rather than deferring to his authority. Aside from the amount of percentage that he holds, he matters for he knows the ins and outs of the system, he knows the strengths and weaknesses of the system
We actually don't know how much he holds. For example, he may have simply destroyed the private keys to much of the early mined coins. Also, he could be dead. His design was groundbreaking, but I think others were better at finding its strengths and weaknesses.

His absence will not matter till he is absent. The community has become very strong; both developers and investors. Maybe had Satoshi been part of the community then it's opinion would have had influence on outcome of some of the major strategic shifts like BCC, BTC gold, Segwit2 etc
I think it is better for Satoshi to remain anonymous, it in one way symbolises the anonymity of bitcoin
