How is a company supposed to reach their goals without funding and crowd support - the whole point of an ICO is to fund a great new idea and in return this idea will give the investors $$$

I agree to an extent, Most ICOs (let's say around 85%) are just sophisticated dumps. I know of three that are already in the top 100 that are obvious scams. That's the risk of crypto though, with the massive gains that can be made in ICOs - there are losses. I've been a victim to them and I'm sure many others have to. There are gems, you just need to find them. Just stray far away to anything that signals even one red flag.

Try to step up your background checking skills before joining any ICO. That is your very important job as an investor. You will end up whining and crying and blaming ICO in general if you fail to do this. Legitimate ICOs will not dump after the release. In fact, some projects offering their tokens through ICO will not give the tokens right away so that there will be no dumping after the release. Legit projects will carefully protect the value of their tokens or coins.

That's what happens when you invest in an ICO that raises $40m, you can't really expect it to trade over ICO price based on idea. It might trade over ICO price in 2 years, but come on, no ICO needs $40m to develop their product.

There are some ICO's that are legit and needed to verify the project. So before investing check the roadmap, team's marketing strategy to be able the ICO to become successful. Thus, not all ICo are useless these days.

It’s useless and worthless when the team behind it is lazy and scammers. But there always be a good ICO, believing that there is still a good project is the only choice we do have now. Regret and risk is continuing battle and for me taking the risk is better than regretting for doing nothing.

I have experienced bad replay from the two current Ico I have invested in since last two months. I bought the first one at 0.00012btc and it is currently bellow 0.00008btc at wavedex! The reality is I was just send the coins yesterday because the distribution of the coins start since the beginning of October with high investors and we that invest below $500 just got ours yesterday. I have decided never to invest in ico project except the developers are ready to buy back the coins when there are in the market.

In fact, some projects offering their tokens through ICO will not give the tokens right away so that there will be no dumping after the release. Legit projects will carefully protect the value of their tokens or coins.

ICO = 100% premined token, money for no work. No mining for real distribution and all the power is with the coin holders. Bad for distribution and easy to manipulate the prices without risk of multi pool dumps. Although ICOs might be replaced by forking a whole bunch of alts if the bitcoin forks are successful.

The fault here will be from the Investors that are not checking the ICO if it will be feasible and has a future. Some ICOs are now meant to pump and dump which is correct, but there are lot of ICOs that are there with good usage, it's for you an investor to atleast research and discern what is the difference of Shitcoins from the real and genuine one.

i have been around here for more than 2 years and never heard a successfull project based on real 'item'.
what i mean is they're delivering what they promised to us,

Some ico are very innovative like health care, housing services and taxis, but it is useless if in the end they will not succeed in fulfilling the aspect of legality, they are trapped so deep that it can not grow. I know that the remaining icons are in non-physical products and services.

There are good projects but its hard to find good ones. We should do some research before we invest our money in ICO. Background check is important to understand if they are true or not.

I can see many ICO occur it means that many people interest on ICO.
If ICO doesn't exist so people did not interest on ICO but the fact is they interest.

Not completely useless, the goal of ico project is sell opportunity and a benefit from the coin when lounching date of the coin.  From the information from ico we can choose one from the offerings when we decide to follow the ico projects from developer information.  Mybe before we choose the ico we must know the good from the bad.

Your right sir many ICO's are appearing on the market right now and yet before they release it. They already dumped it. That's why some investors says that new ICO's are scam indeed.
